Maya Higa scolds Jasontheween for using animals as ‘petting zoo’ at CORE house

Twitch star Maya Higa scolded fellow streamer Jasontheween after he set up a petting zoo at the CORE house for ‘content.’

The former streamers of FaZe Clan have formed a new faction called ‘CORE,‘ and they’re already getting up to their usual wild hijinks.

However, one of these stunts led to a confrontation between member Jasontheween and Maya Higa, and it’s sparking a debate across social media.

More specifically, Jason rented an alpaca, along with several baby goats, bunnies, and even a pig, setting up an impromptu ‘petting zoo’ in the CORE house backyard.

Jason showed off the animals in a live streamed FaceTime call with Maya Higa, a notable conservation activist and Twitch streamer known for founding Alveus Animal Sanctuary.

“I got a new pet. I ran out of content today, so I went to the pet store and got an alpaca,” he told her.

Maya, unimpressed, replied: “Jason, how about the next time you run out of content you use your f**king brain and come up with a good idea.”

“Nah, this is a genius idea. I mean, who has a pet alpaca? Look!” he said.

Jason didn’t get a response, as Maya hung up the call, clearly annoyed with his decision.

Maya wasn’t the only one who took issue with the ordeal. A clip of their conversation quickly went viral, sparking similar reactions from viewers on social media.

Jason and Lacy remarked on these responses, reading a few out loud during a joint stream.

“Are you f**king kidding me, man?” Jason asked, defeated. “Nah, let’s hate-farm zoos, then. What are you actually saying, dude?”

“Those animals probably had the time of their life being outside,” Lacy added. “We fed them, we were hanging out with them, giving them attention. That’s what animals want, dude.”

This isn’t the first time Maya has scolded one of the CORE boys for how they handle animals; in February, Maya berated Lacy for giving away his pet Leopard Geckos mere weeks after buying them when the streamer realized they were more of a responsibility than he’d planned.

Maya is a staunch advocate for animal rights, and most recently became the first-ever Twitch streamer to give a TED talk on the subject at the event’s main stage, where she revealed that Alveus’s broadcasts have reached over 250 million viewers in 2025.
