Mickey Rourke has left Celebrity Big Brother UK following multiple warnings from producers about his inappropriate behavior and offensive remarks, including controversial comments directed at JoJo Siwa.
Mickey Rourke exits Celebrity Big Brother
The Sin City star’s exit came after producers repeatedly warned him about his behavior in the house. While no physical fights broke out, Mickey Rourke’s aggressive language and inappropriate comments led to growing tensions, leading to his exit from Celebrity Big Brother on April 12.
The biggest flashpoint happened when Rourke questioned Jojo Siwa about her sexuality during a conversation in the house. When the young singer and dancer confirmed she was gay and in a relationship with a non-binary partner, Rourke made a series of questionable remarks. “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore,” he joked, prompting Siwa to firmly reply, “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”
The situation escalated in Celebrity Big Brother when Mickey Rourke later said he would “vote the lesbian out real quick,” leading Jojo Siwa to call his comments “homophobic.” At one point, he also made a suggestive remark that appeared directed at her before claiming he was referring to something else entirely. Producers intervened, warning the actor that he would be removed if his behavior continued. He apologized, insisting he meant no harm, but the damage was done. Before his exit from Celebrity Big Brother, Jojo Siwa, who had special voting power, chose Mickey Rourke to face immediate public eviction, saying his behavior made her decision “pretty easy.”
This wasn’t Rourke’s first controversy on the show. Days earlier, he was criticized for inappropriate behavior toward host AJ Odudu, with co-host Will Best stepping in after Rourke appeared to grab and ogle her. ITV, the network behind Celebrity Big Brother, emphasized that all housemates undergo respect and inclusion training before entering the house.
