How to play Nocturna in Moonlight Peaks
You can play Nocturna by speaking to another character and selecting the ‘Invite’ option to challenge them to a game. Not all characters will play Nocturna, but if you want a solid opponent to practice on then Dragan and Death are good choices.
You can usually find Dragan down at the Nokturna spot near the Midnight Market for the first half of most nights.

There are three turns each round and the first to win two rounds is the match winner. However, if you end a match with a tie then there will be no winners.
To win Nocturna you need to have more points than your opponent when the round ends. You will do this by placing down a card on your turn. At the top of your card you can see its value (such as one or six) and this will be counted, then added to your points, at the end of your turn.

However, as simple as this sounds, it’s the luck of the draw when you pull new cards and add them to your hand. There are also Ability Cards, which can turn the tide against you if your opponent uses them. That being said, you can also use your own Ability Cards to do the same to them.
Ultimately, your goal is to end the round with the most points using the cards in your hand. Keep an eye on your opponent’s strategy and the cards they’ve laid down, this will help you figure out what you should do next. For example, if they have laid down a card that’s worth five and it has taken them to five points, then you need to lay down a card that’s worth six or higher to beat them.

Moonlight Peaks Nokturna Ability Cards explained
Ability Cards used in Nokturna can flip the balance of the game very quickly, which means they’re ideal to have in your deck but less ideal when they’re played against you.
Every Ability Card will be marked with a diamond shape at the bottom of it. As well as the effect unique to the card, you’ll also get the value of the card added to your points total. If you’re not sure if you’ve got a card with an ability, you can inspect the card before playing it by hovering over it to raise it up in your hand.
Here are all the Nokturna Ability Cards I’ve found so far:
| Ability Card | Effect |
|---|---|
| Almanac | On play: Draw 3 cards |
| Twilight | Elusive: Can’t be flipped |
| Charm of the Ocean | On play: All opposing cards get -1 Elusive: Can’t be flipped |
| Time Loop | On play: Draw a card, play a card |
| Starfish | On play: Draw a card Elusive: Can’t be flipped |
| Loyal Wolf | At the end of the round, return this card to your hand |
