My Mario Actor «Promises» That The Photoshoot Isn’t AI-Generated

My Mario Actor "Promises" That The Photoshoot Isn't AI-Generated

Add Us On Here is a fact-based summary of the story contents:

Brittoni O’myah Sinclair, one of the actors who appeared in Nintendo’s recent My Mario adverts, has denied the accusations that the photoshoot is AI-generated.

Late last year, Nintendo announced My Mario, a line of Super Mario products specifically aimed at younger children, including an app, wooden building blocks, and more. Although the collection was initially only available in Japan, Nintendo of America recently confirmed that My Mario is launching in the US next month.

A child-friendly range of Mario products is only fairly interesting on its own, but all of the air was taken out of the room when Nintendo of America was accused of using generative AI for its My Mario advertisements. While an oddly-shaped thumb screamed AI to a lot of people, one of the photoshoot’s actors has fought back against the claims.

I Guess That Thumb Is Just Double-Jointed

Shortly after the My Mario adverts were shared and quickly raised eyebrows for allegedly using AI, Nintendo issued a response to confirm that AI wasn’t used in the photoshoots. It wasn’t the only one to deny the use of AI, though, as one of the actors for the My Mario adverts took the time to reply to the post on Instagram and «promise» that AI wasn’t involved.

As pointed out by Twitter user SILENTPRINCESS, Brittoni O’myah Sinclair shared her thoughts on the accusations underneath Nintendo of America’s post about My Mario. In a quick reply, she said, «As one of the models, I can promise you this is not AI guys», which, when combined with Nintendo’s response, hopefully settles any worries about the whole photoshoot being AI-generated.

Although I think Sinclair’s comment is enough to confirm that AI wasn’t used for the My Mario post, the replies to her post show that not everyone has been so quick to change their minds.

So, if AI wasn’t used for the My Mario adverts, what’s up with the strange-looking thumb in the third picture? The simple answer is that the model is just double-jointed and able to bend her thumb like that, something that other fans were quick to demonstrate on Twitter when defending Nintendo.

Although there are still some concerns about Nintendo possibly using AI to brush up the My Mario adverts, a response from someone actually involved in My Mario should be enough to calm any nerves. One thing’s clear, though — Nintendo is more aware than ever before about how its fanbase feels about AI.
