The crime-drama Found, which premiered on NBC in 2023, won’t be getting a third season on the network. Per Deadline, the series led by Shameless alum Shanola Hampton has been canceled. However, hope is not lost yet for fans of Found as the series may be shopped around by its lead studio, Warner Bros. Television.
News of the series’ cancellation comes ahead of its May 15 Season 2 finale, which will now serve as the end to the show. The finale has already been teased as a confrontation between Hampton’s Gabi Mosley and Sir’s (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) sister Lena, played by Danielle Savre.
Found is NBC’s latest victim in the network’s cutback on entertainment programming, which aims to accommodate 180 primetime hours of NBA basketball next season. NBCUniversal inked a $2.5 billion deal with the NBA to air games next season.
The Show Focused on Finding the Forgotten
Found focused on Gabi Mosley (Hampton) as she headed up a crisis management firm that prioritized finding missing people that were otherwise ignored by the police and the media. Mosley was once one of those forgotten people who focused her career on finding those who were forgotten. The series also starred Kelli Williams, Brett Dalton, Gabrielle Walsh, Arlen Escarpeta, and Karan Oberoi.
The show was created and showrun by Nkechi Okoro Carroll, who also served as executive producer with Sonay Hoffman, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, and Lindsay Dunn. The series was produced by Berlanti Productions and Rock My Soul Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.

The Irrational’s Fate at NBC
As NBC has been announcing the fate of its lineup of shows, the network also confirmed that another drama, The Irrational, would not be renewed for a third season, thus ending the series on a cliffhanger. The police procedural, starring Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer, left fans wondering what was next at the end of Season 2, and with the cancellation, it is unlikely they will ever know. The Irrational was loosely based on Dan Ariely’s book Predictably Irrational.
Both Found and The Irrational were held as strike contingencies and launched in the fall of 2023 when broadcast networks were lacking scripted original shows. The shows both started well, and Found was even NBC’s top new show on Peacock, with its premiere episode garnering 10.5 million cross-platform viewers in its first week.
Suits Spinoff Won’t Be Coming Back
Another casualty of the cutbacks is Suits LA, a spinoff of the popular legal drama Suits, which was also canceled by NBC. Suits LA debuted in February and brought back several legacy Suits characters and starred Stephen Amell (Arrow) in the leading role of former federal prosecutor-turned-entertainment lawyer Ted Black. Even though the show had high expectations, it did not garner great reviews from critics.
Suits LA will not be coming back for a second season, and its thirteenth episode, set to premiere on May 18, will be the final episode of the show. It’s not known whether the show will end in a cliffhanger.
Found’s two seasons are streaming on Peacock, and its series finale will air on May 15.
