NBC canceled a couple of shows back in 2025, but one show now haunts it by becoming a hit on streaming. Every year, networks assess their programming schedule, deciding which shows deserve to be renewed and which need to end. There are several factors that are considered when making these choices, but regardless, pulling the plug on a show will always be met with push back from fans.
The list of 2025 TV show cancellations ranges from comedies to procedurals. Some of them had been on the air for years, such as The Conners, while others were fairly new, like Suits LA. Refreshing a network’s programming is part of making sure that traditional broadcasting is optimized, especially at a competitive time. That said, some cancellations are more frustrating than others, which NBC may be learning now as one of their canceled shows finds success on streaming.
Why Found Was NBC's Worst Cancelation Decision In 2025

Debuting in 2023, Found had one of the most inventive premises on network TV in recent years. Normally, procedurals have a straightforward starting point, banking on the weekly cases and the development of characters to hook viewers. That wasn’t the case for the Nkechi Okoro Carroll-created series on NBC. It public relations specialist and crisis manager, Gabi Mosely, and her team, as they help locate missing people who were sidelined by the system. The hook, however, was that Gabi was a victim herself, and was holding her captor, Sir, captive secretly.
After keeping her secret for so long, Gabi’s kidnapping her own kidnapper gets out in the open in the Found season 2 finale. This set up a very interesting season 3, not just for her but for her whole team and their advocacy. Unfortunately, NBC pulled the plug on Found before that could materialize, leaving viewers with one of the most frustrating cliffhangers in 2025 for network TV. Cancellations are always hard, but there’s something extra frustrating when a show that has clear potential gets so close to reaching it but doesn’t get the chance to do so
Found Becomes A Streaming Hit For Netflix

Not even a year since NBC canceled the show, and Found has already become a streaming success on Netflix (via FlixPatrol). Based on the latest numbers, the procedural ranks fourth in the most-watched TV series on the platform, behind Run Away, Stranger Things, and its weekly coverage of Raw. Found is the only entry on that list that is acquired content, meaning all of its episodes have already aired before, both on NBC through its weekly run and then on Peacock.
Found only landed on Netflix shortly after the new year, and yet, it was able to already find its viewers. Admittedly, the show wasn’t a big hit for NBC, but considering how it is now blowing up on Netflix, it’s curious if it would have eventually found its base had the network kept it in its 2025-2026 TV cycle. If its success continues, perhaps the streamer could consider reviving the show to at least give a proper send-off to Gabbi and Sir.
