Netflix Reveals First Look at Kathryn Hahn & Adam Devine's R-Rated Animated Comedy

A sneak peek of a new 2D animated “raunchy” comedy starring Agatha All Along’s Kathryn Hahn and The Righteous Gemstones’ Adam Devine has been released by Netflix.

Although Fixed won’t hit the platform until August, Tudum by Netflix shared two photos from the adult animated movie from Dexter’s Laboratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky. The series features Bull, a “quick-witted mutt” (Devine) who finds out his owner is planning to neuter him after he’s caught mounting grandma’s leg. When Bull discovers this, he scrambles to find his pals in the neighborhood so they can have one last “untamed all-night adventure” with the end goal of telling the dog next door, Honey (Hahn) that he loves her.

Tartakovsky, who co-wrote, directed, and produced Fixed, is also behind such shows as Samurai Jack, Primal, and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal. However, his inspiration for for the film came from his own experiences with his core group of friends. “I have been friends with the same group of four guys since high school,» he said. «These guys make me laugh like nothing else, so I was thinking, ‘Can I translate this humor to animation?’”

Fixed Was Inspired By A Disney Classic

Tartakovsky added that Fixed initially started off as an R-rated version of a beloved Disney classic. “I love caricatured and exaggerated animation, so I knew the sensibility that I like to do, and it was a matter of dialing (up) the amount of exaggeration. I think it started out as a rated-R Lady and the Tramp, and then as we got into it, it naturally became more cartoon-y and specific to itself.»

«I would say it began to really take shape as we were fortunate to hire some of the best animators working in 2D from around the world,” he added. Joining Hahn and Devine in Fixed are Idris Elba as the voice of a boxer named Rocco, Fred Armisen as a dachshund named Fetch, and Bobby Moynihan as Bull’s pal, Lucky. Beck Bennett, River Gallo, and Michelle Buteau also lend their voices to Fetch.

Hahn can currently be seen in the new Apple TV+ series The Studio alongside Seth Rogen. She previously starred as Agatha Harkness in Disney+’s hit series Agatha All Along, but don’t look for her in any of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films. In a previous interview, Hahn said of returning to the MCU, “I don’t think so. I think I would know by now.” The actor was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Agatha All Along and also earned an Emmy nomination for playing the character in WandaVision.

Fixed premieres on Netflix on Aug. 13.
