People We Meet on Vacation continues a stellar Rotten Tomatoes streak for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Tom Blyth. The Netflix adaptation of the Emily Henry romance novel of the same name stars Blyth and Emily Bader as two friends who have spent a week together every summer for a decade.

Critics’ People We Meet on Vacation reviews have previously earned the movie a solidly Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score of 79% on the Tomatometer.

A day after the movie debuted on Netflix, Rotten Tomatoes aggregated enough user reviews of the new movie to give it an official audience score on the Popcornmeter. Thanks to more than 100 ratings, People We Meet on Vacation‘s Popcornmeter score has outdone its Tomatometer score by hitting 83%.

Overall, audience members’ individual scores tend toward middling but positive scores of 3 and 3.5 out of 5. The positive reviews tend to agree that the movie is charming and that it uses its romantic comedy tropes well, though it has so far not earned any perfect 5 out of 5 scores.

Nevertheless, this continues an impeccable Popcornmeter streak for the star, who has only ever received positive scores from audiences. While some of his projects have faltered with critics (season 1 of his Epix/MGM+ Western series earned a splat with a 50% Tomatometer score), People We Meet on Vacation marks his seventh «Hot» title in a row.

Below, see a breakdown of how Tom Blyth movies and TV shows have performed so far on Rotten Tomatoes, except for titles that have not yet earned Popcornmeter scores (including Billy the Kid season 3):

In addition to continuing Tom Blyth’s streak of Hot titles, People We Meet on Vacation continues an even better Popcornmeter streak for the star that began in 2022. Although his first two titles had slightly lower Popcornmeter scores, the new Netflix romantic comedy marks his fifth score in a row to land above 80%.

It ultimately remains to be seen how long Tom Blyth can keep this streak going. However, his next project could very well continue his trend of strong Popcornmeter scores. He is set to star opposite Talk to Me‘s Sophie Wilde in Watch Dogs, a movie based on the popular Ubisoft video game series of the same name.

If that movie can capture the same energy as the series, it could potentially earn a score that is equal to or greater than that of People We Meet on Vacation, which similarly sought to capture fans of the original bestselling novel.
