Xbox revealing Ninja Gaiden 4 out of nowhere to kick off 2025 was a real statement of intent. Not only because it shadowdropped Ninja Gaiden 2 Black alongside that reveal, but because it has been a heck of a year for the platform so far. Thankfully, despite Xbox getting the reveal, Ninja Gaiden 4 will not be exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and will also be available on PS5 and PC when it launches on October 21, 2025.
Regardless of where you plan on playing Ninja Gaiden 4, pre-orders are now open, and there are bonuses to be had and decisions to be made. Also, despite what you may have seen, there isn’t a version of Ninja Gaiden 4 that costs $999.99 — that was a mistake that was quickly rectified by Walmart. How much Ninja Gaiden 4’s various editions actually cost, along with everything else you need to know about pre-ordering the game, can be found below.

Xbox reminded people that it promised to Nintendo into $80 game territory by confirming its first game to hit that new industry standard will be The Outer Worlds 2. While that’s bad news for those of you who plan on buying that sequel, Ninja Gaiden 4 appears to have gotten in under the wire. Even though it will be released just eight days before The Outer Worlds 2, Ninja Gaiden 4 will be a $70 game. In even more good news, if you pre-order Ninja Gaiden 4, you’ll get a Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo Skin.
The deluxe edition will, understandably, cost more. Team Ninja believes that the extra you get by going deluxe is worth $20 as the more expensive version of the game costs $89.99. For that extra $20, you’ll get more skins, an additional weapon set, and 50,000 NinjaCoin. You’ll also get unspecified in-game items and access to future content that won’t be included, at least not without an additional fee, in the standard edition.

Playing Ninja Gaiden 4 On Xbox Game Pass Day One
No Need To Pre-Order If You Have Game Pass
Even though Team Ninja isn’t an Xbox-owned studio, Ninja Gaiden 4’s developers have a close relationship with Xbox. That’s why an Xbox Developer Direct was chosen as the place to officially reveal Ninja Gaiden 4. It’s also why, if you are subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you don’t need to worry about pre-ordering Ninja Gaiden 4.
Ninja Gaiden 4 will indeed be included with Game Pass from day one. It will be a little different from some of the other Xbox Studios games added to Game Pass day one recently, presumably because it isn’t an Xbox-published game. While titles like The Outer Worlds 2 have an option so that people playing on Game Pass can pay a little extra for its more expensive edition, if you want the deluxe edition of Ninja Gaiden 4, you will have to pay the full $90. There is no $20 upgrade option for Game Pass subscribers.
