  • Tite Kubo Worried About The Final Part

Bleach fans were waiting for big news yesterday, but they unfortunately ended up disappointed by the update on the anime. Since Part 3 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War (Bleach: TWBY) concluded at the end of 2024, fans have been anticipating more news about the fourth and final part of the anime.

As no release window was announced after Part 3’s final episode, most fans took it as a sign that the final part would take longer to be released. Additionally, creator Tite Kubo has dropped a few comments on the upcoming part, and sometimes they make fans worry, and other times they make fans more excited than ever.

Bleach: TYBW Will End in 2026

On July 5, it was confirmed that the final season of Bleach: TYBW will be released in 2026. Although it was an official announcement, this was not big news to fans, as the information leaked and massively circulated online a few days ago alongside the key visual that was revealed. Therefore, fans were expecting a new trailer to be unveiled, but that hasn’t happened.

While many were pleased with the release window announcement, several fans expressed disappointment that the leaks had already revealed everything. The official Bleach accounts on social media also made a countdown to the announcement, which added to fans’ anticipation of this announcement as something huge. In any case, if the content wasn’t leaked prior to the announcement, it’s likely that they would feel less disappointed.

Tite Kubo Worried About The Final Part

A few weeks ago, Tite Kubo commented that he was reviewing storyboards for the final season and that he could already tell from the storyboards that the studio might struggle to animate the series. Studio Pierrot has been praised for the quality of TYBW, and as Kubo confirms that they aim to deliver stunning animation in the final part, perhaps it’s natural to worry about the animators. His comments do not come from a place of skepticism about their abilities, but rather about their well-being while producing the series.

Lately, I’ve been reviewing a lot of Bleach’s Part 4 storyboards back-to-back, and there are some episodes where, even at the storyboard stage, you can already tell the animation is going to be insanely difficult (though, to be fair, every episode seems that way). It makes me worry about the animators.

— Tite Kubo

Kubo had previously stated that the final part would feature original content that could leave fans shocked. Given that he is directly involved in the production, it means that this never-before-seen content is in line with his views on the story, so it could be considered an addition to the manga. Fans have speculated that this new content will expand the ending of the manga. A few years ago, Tite Kubo released a new chapter, teasing that he would finally write the highly anticipated Hell Arc. Unfortunately, no news about a new Bleach manga has been announced since then. In any case, the new scenes could be a hint of what’s coming.

Bleach: TYBW is available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
