North Carolina Instacart Shopper Isn’t Happy with Her Generous Tip and Begs Family for Extra: ‘Sounds Like a Good Tip to Me, the Nerve’

Kinda rude, if you ask me

When a North Carolina family had groceries delivered to their house, they paid and sent their Instacart shopper a tip. But apparently, the tip they sent wasn’t enough. Their shopper immediately rang their doorbell and asked for a little more, in a shocking video interaction.

TikTokers @the_boydfamily caught a bizarre moment on their home camera when an Instacart shopper was less than impressed with their tip. On camera, you can see the Instacart shopper dropping off the bags on their porch. She then rings the doorbell and says to the family through their camera, “Sweetheart? Can you ask if somebody can put some extra on my tip?” She shows her phone to the camera and repeats, “On my tip.” Then, the shopper walks off the porch and waits for them to respond.

In a Part 2 video, two members of the Boyd Family walk out for their groceries. As soon as they do, they’re ambushed by the Instacart shopper, who asks again if they can tip her extra. One of the women says, “We didn’t order it. Our boss ordered it.” The shopper tries to tell them that she did a “lot of work” for only a “$17 tip” that they gave her. To this, the woman retrieving her groceries tells her that they’ll let their boss know she wants extra. They scurry off into the house with the groceries, clearly perturbed.

@The_boydfamily was shocked that an Instacart shopper would do this when they already tipped her $17. They couldn’t believe that she “rang the doorbell just to say this.” On their video, they ask their audience, “What is wrong with people?”

The video immediately sparked reactions, with many calling out the Instacart shopper for her greed. One commenter hilariously quipped, “Here’s a tip: Don’t accept deliveries to my address.” Another stated, “$17 sounds like a good tip to me, the nerve.” Another commenter asked, “That’s crazy!! Why did she leave the groceries in the sun?”

Commenters continue to react to the video. It sparked a variety of conversations about people expecting too much. Many sided with @the_boydfamily, saying she only delivered a few groceries and the tip they left was plenty. The video continues to gain traction, with commenters sharing their opinions about how it was handled.
