Developer Mohawk Games and publisher Hooded Horse have announced the release date for the upcoming Old World DLC Empires of the Indus, which brings new playable nations and more at the end of the month.
As revealed in a Steam post, Empires of the Indus arrives on March 30th. Its first major new feature is three extra playable nations in the form of the Mauryans, the Yuezhi, and the Tamilakam, each representing a major player «across a 600-year period of upheaval and opportunity».
As well as these new nations, you can also look forward to a new tribe, the Huns, and they’re accompanied by new unique events that cover the «emergence» of the Huns’ «most famous son», Attila.

Two new religions, Hinduism and Buddhism, will be added to the game in Empires of the Indus, and all three new nations will begin as Hindu nations, with the Mauryans able to establish Buddhism «through a unique project».
Four new Wonders will be introduced in the new DLC, too, in addition to a new Jungle vegetation type, more than 200 new events, and plenty more. In short, it’s set to be a pretty sizeable DLC, so if you love Old World but could go in for more, this one’s for you.
If you’re unfamiliar with Old World, it’s a Civilization-style 4X strategy game, and it’s the brainchild of Civilization IV designer Soren Johnson. Like Civ, the game gives you control of your own empire over multiple generations, but it’s also a more character-focused affair with a Crusader Kings flavor to it.
Publishing for the game is handled by Hooded Horse, which made a splash recently when its head Tim Bender revealed that the studio has a no-generative-AI clause written into its developer contracts.
You’ll be able to check out Old World‘s Empires of the Indus DLC when it arrives on PC via Steam on March 30th. The base game is available to check out right now on PC as well.
