Spoiler Alert !!!Contains spoilers for the Elbaph Arc!

The introduction of the God’s Knights in the Elbaph Arc has shaken up the power hierarchy in One Piece. Their immortality makes them nearly impossible to defeat, so even subduing them is a great feat. With what we learnt in Chapter 1167 and what Loki said in 1152, Loki might be more powerful than Rocks D. Xebec, but it also proves that Shanks is the strongest.

Shanks has long been theorized to be the strongest in the One Piece universe, but with figures like Gol D. Roger and Rocks D. Xebec, it’s difficult to place him. We’ve seen what the two legendary figures are capable of, or in this case, not. Loki, however, proved that he surpassed his idol. This indirectly gave Shanks an upgrade. Let’s dive into why.

Loki’s Greatest Feat Implies He’s Stronger Than Rocks D. Xebec

Although One Piece has introduced Loki back in the Whole Cake Island Arc, it’s only in the Elbaph Arc in Chapter 1130 that we get to see him and begin to know his character. The giants called him the Accursed Prince and claimed that he killed Harald in cold blood and for selfish reasons. However, there is so much more to his story and how Harald died.

It’s still possible that Loki killed him 14 years ago, just not because he wanted the legendary Devil Fruit. Harald, however, is incredibly powerful and has ancient giant heritage. This makes him more mighty than regular giants, who are already quite durable and strong.

Even Rocks D. Xebec, who is arguably the strongest character in One Piece, clashed with him on several occasions, but it always ended in a tie. It says a lot about both him and Harald. However, if it’s true that Loki killed Harald, there’s another layer to it that’s hinted at in Chapters 1152 and 1167.

In Chapter 1167, it’s revealed that Harald didn’t just ally with the World Government; he became a Devoted Blade of God, a subordinate of the God’s Knights. He received the Shallows Convenant contract, which possibly granted him immortality or regeneration, although this hasn’t been confirmed.

Loki, in Chapter 1152, says he has faced the God’s Knights before and is quite sure he can beat them. He could be referring to Harald and killing him, bypassing his regeneration, possibly using Conqueror’s Haki. Regardless of whether the contract didn’t grant the God’s Knights’ immortality, he defeated Harald, a feat even Rocks couldn’t achieve.

Shanks Has Surpassed Roger’s Legacy in One Piece

The truth behind Rocks D. Xebec’s death is more tragic than violent, as he begged Roger and Garp to defeat him as Imu used Domi Reversi and commanded him to kill everyone. Despite his wish to die, the two found it difficult to bypass his defenses and kill him.

Roger and Garp managed to subdue Rocks, but it was Garling who dealt the final blow. Before Imu demonized him, he was able to defeat the God’s Knight, although he did survive. Nonetheless, we haven’t seen Roger be able to do what Rocks did, and now, Loki claims he has done it too.

Thus, Shanks successfully capturing Loki 6 years ago, despite his ancient giant heritage and the feat of killing his father, proves that he’s stronger than his former captain. We are yet to learn more details of what happened, but it couldn’t have been easy. This makes him stronger than Loki, Roger, Rocks, Harald, and even his biological father, Garling.
