Patreon CEO tells Bricks & Minifigs to “sue us” after refusing to remove Reckless Ben

Patreon CEO Jack Conte has revealed the platform rejected a request from Bricks & Minifigs to remove YouTuber Reckless Ben’s Patreon page amid an ongoing dispute surrounding a controversial LEGO consignment case.

Conte revealed the request in a June 3 video posted to YouTube, where he said Patreon had received legal filings seeking the removal of media and accounts connected to Reckless Ben, who uses the platform to help fund his content creation.

Patreon rejects Bricks & Minifigs takedown request

In the video, Conte said Patreon received an official takedown request from Bricks & Minifigs on May 29 relating to Reckless Ben and the ongoing dispute surrounding a Bricks & Minifigs store in Oregon.

During the video, Conte displayed what he said were documents submitted to Patreon, including a complaint, a request for immediate content removal tied to a temporary restraining order, and a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction.

After what Conte described as an extensive review by Patreon’s Trust and Safety team, the company decided not to remove the page.

“We have, in fact, unfortunately determined that Bricks & Minifigs can stuff it. We’re keeping Ben’s page up,” Conte said.

He then added, “And if Bricks and Minifigs doesn’t like that, they can sue us.”

The dispute stems from Reckless Ben’s reporting on allegations surrounding a former Bricks & Minifigs store in Oregon, where a family claims a valuable LEGO collection was improperly withheld following a change in ownership.

The controversy has since expanded into lawsuits, court filings, corporate statements, and a lengthy online battle. On June 2, it emerged that Bricks & Minifigs had filed a lawsuit against Ben and others in his viral investigation.
