How to catch Volcanion.

The ‘Pressure Rising’ Special Research quest gives every Pokémon Go player the chance to catch a Volcanion for free!
Volcanion was originally released exclusively to ticketed players during Go Fest 2025 and this quest follows the tradition of Go Fest mythicals, like Diancie, being released worldwide nearly a year after the event.
Now Volcanion can be caught by Pokémon Go players worldwide, so let’s take a look at the ‘Pressure Rising’ rewards and quest steps.

The Memories in Motion season is nearly here, so it’s time to finish the Precious Paths quest. There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.
How Volcanion first debuted in Pokémon Go

Volcanion originally debuted in Pokémon Go as part of the Go Fest 2025 celebrations. It first became available to players who attended the in-person Go Fest 2025 event in Osaka, followed by the in-person events in Jersey City and Paris. Finally, it was released worldwide to ticketed players during Go Fest 2025 Global.
That’s right! Volcanion is another example of a Mythical Pokémon being pay-to-play content before being released for free worldwide roughly a year after its Go Fest. This is the pattern for such Mythical Pokémon and ensures free-to-play trainers still get the chance to add them to their Pokédexs.
To be exact, you need to have reached Step 5 of the ‘Full Steam Ahead’ Special Research from Go Fest 2025: Global to add Volcanion to your Pokédex if you were a ticketed player.
Good luck catching Volcanion in Pokémon Go!
