Every free and pay-to-play activity for Go Tour Kalos Global.
Go Tour Kalos: Global takes Pokémon Go to the France-inspired Kalos region to celebrate Gen 6 for the sixth installment in the long running Go Tour event series.
The Global version of this Pokémon Go event comes a week after the Tainan and Los Angeles in-person events, giving players worldwide a chance to join in on the fun. Though it’s a good idea to know what time Go Tour: Kalos starts and the habitat hour schedule.
It’s also a good idea to know which activities are free and which are pay-to-play during Go Tour Kalos: Global, along with the event’s bonuses.

Pokémon Go Tour Kalos schedule: What time does Go Tour Kalos Global start?
The Pokémon Go Tour Kalos: Global event is running on Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March between 10am to 6pm (local time) on both days.

Three rotating habitats will be running throughout the event hours on both days. Though, unlike past Go Tour events, there’s an exception — every fourth hour all three habitat hours are technically running together, with Pokémon from each hour having the chance of making an appearance. These habitat hours are Central Village, Mountain Manor and Coastal Laboratory. Each habitat hour has its own list of Pokémon who will spawn more frequently during them, along with selected Unown appearing if you use Incense.
Here’s the habitat hour schedule for both days of Go Tour Kalos: Global:
- 10am to 11am — Central Village
- 11am to 12pm — Mountain Manor
- 12pm to 1pm — Coastal Laboratory
- 1pm to 2pm — Pokémon from all three habitats appearing
- 2pm to 3pm — Central Village
- 3pm to 4pm — Mountain Manor
- 4pm to 5pm — Coastal Laboratory
- 5pm to 6pm — Pokémon from all three habitats appearing
It’s important to note that this schedule follows your region’s local time, so Go Tour Kalos will always begin with Central Village no matter where you live.
The Carnival of Flamigo is currently running and its brought Flamigo to Pokémon Go! The Precious Paths quest is running through this season. There’s a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! From the Go Battle League, Remote Trading, PokéStop Showcase, Routes and Max Battles. Don’t forget to catch rare Pokémon while you’re at it.

There’s a range of activities and features you can enjoy during Go Tour Kalos: Global with the majority of them being free. Purchasing an event ticket, however, will unlock even more features, including three Research Quests. There’s a chance more features will be announced in the runup to the event as well.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the features on offer, which I cover in more detail after the lists:

Free-to-play Activities
Kalos is the home of Mega Evolution in the Pokémon universe, so it makes complete sense that Go Tour Kalos: Global will be bringing new Mega Evolutions to Pokémon Go players. First appearing in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Victreebel will be released on Saturday 28th February and Mega Malamar will debut on Sunday 1st March. Both of these Pokémon will be appearing in Mega Raids throughout these days, so make sure you battle them to earn their Mega Energy.

Rotating habitat hours have also returned for this event. Go Tour Kalos: Global will have three rotating habitat hours — Central Village, Mountain Manor, Coastal Laboratory — with each one having its own list of themed Pokémon. There will also be Unown Incense encounters with Unown A, K, L, O and S all be available. (Can you figure out what they spell? Probably.) There are also two new costume Pikachus, each wearing a hat inspired by the protagonists of Pokémon X and Y for the Nintendo 3DS, and new shiny forms for Hawlucha, Klefki, and the Honedge evolution line.
As always, there will be a selection of event-exclusive eggs. The highlight of these being the 10km egg containing only regionally exclusive Pokémon, including Hawlucha and Klefki. Just remember — you can only collect these eggs during event hours!
Here’s the full egg pool chart for each Go Tour Kalos: Global event-exclusive egg:
| 2km | 5km | 10km |
|---|---|---|
| Larvitar | Red Flower Flabébé | Kangaskhan |
| Bagon | Yellow Flower Flabébé | Heracross |
| Beldum | Orange Flower Flabébé | Hawlucha |
| Gible | Blue Flower Flabébé | Klefki |
| White Flower Flabébé |
I’m betting what you’re more interested in though are the raids! Let’s start with the regular raids:
| One-Star Raids | Five-Star Raids |
|---|---|
| Calem’s Hat Pikachu | Xerneas |
| Serena’s hat Pikachu | Yveltal |
| Honedge |
The highlight of Go Tour Kalos: Global, however, are the rotating Mega Raids. Each hour sees a different Mega Evolution highlighted in the Mega Raids, giving you the perfect opportunity to gather up some Mega Energy for one you might be wanting to use. (Looking at you Mega Lucario.)
Here’s the Mega Raid schedule for Go Tour Kalos: Global:
| Time | Saturday 28th February | Sunday 1st March |
|---|---|---|
| 10am to 11am | Mega Charizard X Mega Charizard Y |
Mega Sceptile Mega Blaziken Mega Swampert |
| 11am to 12pm | Mega Pidgeot | Mega Scizor |
| 12pm to 1pm | Mega Garchomp | Mega Tyranitar |
| 1pm to 2pm | Mega Gardevoir Mega Gallade |
Mega Absol |
| 2pm to 3pm | Mega Kangaskhan | Mega Heracross |
| 3pm to 4pm | Mega Venusaur Mega Blastoise |
Mega Metagross |
| 4pm to 5pm | Mega Lucario | Mega Salamence |
| 5pm to 6pm | Mega Latias | Mega Latios |

The Pokémon you catch via raids and Mega Raids will also come with one of three new Special Backgrounds. Every Pokémon caught via a Mega Raid will have a Mega Evolution inspired background. Xerneas, meanwhile, will have a background inspired by Pokémon X and Yveltal will have one inspired by Pokémon Y. Both Calem Hat and Serena Hat Pikachu can either have the X or Y background — you’ll have to wait and see which one you get.
Finally, there are also some Route bonuses. Not only will you be able to find both Zygarde Cells and Mateo at the end of Routes 25 times, but Flabébé will be appearing more frequently on Routes too. Though the Flabébé colour variants which appear will still be tied to your region.
Pay-to-play Activities
While this year’s Go Tour event has returned to being a ticketed one, only some aspects of Go Tour: Kalos Global are locked behind this purchase. The downside? Most of the paid features are the event’s research quests.
Firstly, there’s the shiny Diancie Masterwork Research quest. As you can probably tell, this chance will give you the chance to add a shiny Diancie to your collection. Just keep in mind that Masterwork Research quests are designed to take a while to complete, so your journey to shiny Diancie will most likely go beyond Go Tour Kalos: Global. Thankfully, this quest won’t have a deadline.

Secondly, there’s the branching Special Research quest. This quest will be focused around Mega Evolution and continues two paths — X and Y — themed around the original Pokémon X and Y 3DS games. Choosing the X path will reward with the X Version Medal and an encounter with an Xerneas with a Special Background, while the Y path leads to the Y Version Medal and an encounter with an Yveltal with a Special Background. This quest also won’t have a deadline.
If you’re planning on attending either the Tainan or Los Angeles in-person Go Tour events, then you can still purchase a Go Tour Kalos: Global ticket to unlock this quest.

The third quest is the Furfrou-themed Timed Research quest. Usually the trims available for Furfrou are decided upon which region you’re currently in, but this Timed Research quest will grant you access to some regionally exclusive trims. Though the exact trims available to you are still region dependent (for some reason).
Here’s a list of which Furfrou trims are available there:
- Americas — Star, Diamond, La Reine, Kabuki or Pharoah Trim.
- Europe, Middle East and Africa — Star, Debutante, La Reine, Kabuki or Pharoah Trim.
- Asia-Pacific — Diamond, Debutante, La Reine, Kabuki or Pharoah Trim.
- France — Star, Debutante, Kabuki or Pharoah Trim.
- Japan — Diamond, Debutante, La Reine or Pharoah Trim.
- Egypt — Star, Debutante, Lae Reine or Kabuki Trim.
Keep in mind that you’ll have until 6pm (local time) on Sunday 1st March to complete this quest, but will be able to change Furfrou into your chosen trim until 11:59pm (local time) on the same day.
Finally, there’s a range of pay-to-play bonuses for you to enjoy. The main one, however, is the Go Snapshot bonus for a Latias and Latios encounter. This sees these legendary Pokémon photobombing one of your snapshots on both Saturday and Sunday. Latias will be photobombing on Saturday, while Latios will be taking over on Sunday. You’ll earn one encounter each with these Pokémon using this method.
Go Tour Kalos price: How to purchase Go Tour Kalos Global ticket
If you want to partake in every aspect of the Go Tour Kalos: Global event, then you need to purchase an event ticket. This can be brought either from the in-game store or from the Pokémon Go Web Store.
A Go Tour Kalos: Global ticket costs £9.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency.
This is a nonrefundable purchase and can not be done using PokéCoin. (Only real cold cash!) You can purchase event tickets on behalf of players you’re Great Friends or higher with. Players who attended the Tainan or Los Angeles in-person events can also pay a Global event ticket to unlock this event’s pay-to-play features. It’s also worth noting that purchasing this ticket will not grant you access to the Deluxe track for Go Pass: Road to Kalos as this is a separate purchase.
To purchase a Go Tour Kalos: Global ticket from the in-game store, you first need to open the shop from the main in-game menu. Once there, scroll down until you see the banner for the event (it’s the one with shiny Diancie). Next select ‘Buy’ and then follow the payment instructions for your specific device.

After purchasing the event ticket, it should automatically appear in your Item Storage. If it doesn’t then you may need to close and reopen Pokémon Go to force it to appear. After this, the pay-to-play elements will unlock automatically once Go Tour Kalos: Global begins.
Hope you enjoy Go Tour Kalos: Global!
