Go Wild Area 2025: Global is running a week after the in-person, three-day version of the event in Nagasaki, Japan, from Friday 7th November to Sunday 9th November. Joining the in-person event will grant you early access to the Go Wild Area activities, but you will need to visit (or live in) Japan to take part! It’s also worth noting that the Nagasaki Wild Area event already sold out, so if you don’t have a ticket, you’ll need to wait for the Global event!

Going back to the Global version of the Wild Area event, every player will have the chance to add Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl to their Pokédex. There will also be new Mighty Pokémon to catch and both Cresselia and Darkrai will be making their return in five-star raids. Purchasing a ticket for Wild Area Global will grant you access to a special research quest and an additional set of bonuses.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at both the free and pay-to-play activities running through Go Wild Area 2025: Global…

November is here, so it’s time to learn the event and raid schedule. You can now catch Dynamax Pokémon through Max Battles. First, however, you need to visit Power Spots to collect Max Particles and complete the To the Max! quest. Don’t forget to learn about the new Level Cap, try out Routes, Gift Exchange and Party Play while you’re hunting down rare Pokémon, fighting in the Go Battle League or competing in PokéStop Showcases.

Free-to-play activities during Pokémon Go Wild Area

Go Wild Area 2025: Global has a range of free-to-play activities for you to enjoy in Pokémon Go, including the chance to catch new Pokémon, bonuses and the release of Mighty Pokémon.

Here’s everything we know about the free-to-play activities in Go Wild Area 2025: Global so far:

Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl debut

The Go Wild Area 2025 marks the release of Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl in Pokémon Go!

These Gen 8 Pokémon are the only Dark/Fairy-type Pokémon in the franchise, which makes them pretty interesting. This combo is weak to Poison, Steel and Fairy, but resistant to Ghost and Dark. In the main-series games, they’re also immune to Psychic and Dragon, making it an interesting Pokémon to have on your team.

While it doesn’t have a Mega evolution, it does have a Gigantamax form. And the good news here is that Gigantamax Grimmsnarl is being released as part of this event!

But wait, there’s more! For those of you keen on shiny Pokémon, we’re pleased to say that the shiny Impidimp, shiny Morgrem and shiny Grimmsnarl will be out in the wild, too!

Impidimp will in the wild and in 5km eggs during the Go Wild Area event. It evolves into Morgrem using 25 Impidimp Candy, and then Grimmsnarl using 100 Impidimp Candy.

For those less keen on Max Battles, but want the chance to pick up a fancy Pokémon, simply complete this year’s event-exclusive Special Research story for a guaranteed encounter with a Grimmsnarl that can Gigantamax!

Mighty Pokémon

Mighty Pokémon are a cool variant you’ll encounter during Go Wild Area 2025: Global. What sets Mighty Pokémon apart from the rest is that they’re far more powerful from the regular Pokémon you can catch in the wild.

Mighty Pokémon are more likely to have high Attack, Defence and HP stats, thanks to their 13/13/13 baseline. In keeping with these higher stats, they’re also more likely to be either XL or XXL size. You may even encounter a shiny Mighty Pokémon!

The downside? Mighty Pokémon are more difficult to catch…

You’ll know you have a Mighty Pokémon instead of a regular one when you see ‘!!!’ instead of the usual CP above its head. Make sure you use your Go Safari Balls on these Pokémon as they greatly improve your chance of success.

The Mighty Pokémon you will encounter in the wild will also change between Saturday or Sunday, so it’s a good idea to know when each one is making an appearance if you’re planning on catching them.

Here are the Mighty Pokémon appearing on Saturday:

Habitat hours and Pokémon spawns

Go Wild Area 2025 wouldn’t be a global Pokémon Go event if it didn’t have habitat hours! Like last year, Go Wild Area Global will have two habitat hours celebrating the two types being showcased. This year, the two habitats are the Lurking Dark Hour followed by the Fanciful Fairy Hour. No prizes for guessing which hour contains which type…

Mighty Pokémon can appear during either habitat hour, regardless of their type. We’ve outlined the Mighty Pokémon spawns above!

For now, let’s take a look at the Pokémon spawning during the Dark Hour (commence Persona 3 battle music):

Shadow Cresselia will be appearing in Shadow Raids on Saturday.

Shadow Darkrai will be appearing in Shadow Raids on Sunday.

Wilderness Cape Bewear, a costume Bewear wearing a cape, will be appearing in Three Star Raids all weekend.

All three Pokémon can be shiny, which is nice to know!

Wilderness Cape Bewear

There is only one costumed Pokémon up for grabs this year, and that’s Bewear wearing a Wilderness Cape.

Regardless of your thoughts on costume Pokémon, it’s worth noting that Bewear in this event are special. You can either catch the costume Bewear or evolve a Stufful into a Bewear during the event to get a Bewear that knows the Fighting-type Charged Attack Drain Punch.

Purchasing a ticket for Go Wild Area 2025: Global will grant you access to several extra activities and bonuses to enjoy throughout the event.

Bonuses

The main reason for purchasing a Go Wild Area 2025: Global event is all of the additional bonuses it will unlock (between 10am and 6pm local time on Saturday and Sunday). There’s a fair few (albeit fewer than last year) so we’ve listed them down below for you:

The Special Research will unlock on Saturday November 15th, 2025, at 10am (local time).

Dark Detective

Trainers who choose the Dark-type path will receive the following bonuses upon earning the Dark Detective medal.

  • One additional Candy XL awarded for catching Dark-type mighty Pokémon (Trainers Level 31 or higher).

The Unown on offer this year are the letters WILD.

  • Uxie
  • Mesprit
  • Azelf

New avatar items

Both a Bewear Onesie and Morgrem Hairstyle will be on sale in-game shop from the moment Wild Area 2025 begins and will be available after the event ends.

It’s worth noting that, while not technically part of the ticket, the premium Go Pass Deluxe track will give you access to the Grimmsnarl hairstyle as a track reward. For those of you who fancy sporting an emo do, you can also purchase the Morgrem hairstyle from the in-game shop.

Finally, ticket-holding Trainers who complete their event Special Research will receive an all-new avatar pose where you toss your Pokéball between your hands. What’s particularly cool is that the Pokéball your avatar holds will match the ball that your Buddy Pokémon is in.
