Tinkatink arrives in Pokémon Go!
The Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event is a very long Pokémon Go event title. It also celebrates the release of the second season of the Pokémon Horizons anime, The Search for Laqua, in the UK and US.
During this Pokémon Go event, you can complete the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event Timed Research quest and event-exclusive research tasks.
The event’s main draw, however, is the release of Tinkatink, Tinkatuff and Tinkaton in Pokémon Go. Not only that but there’s a new costume Pokémon in the form of Liko’s Pin Floragato.

Everything else we know about the Pokémon Horizons The Series Celebration Event
The Pokemon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event is running until Tuesday 22nd April at 8pm (local time) in Pokémon Go. There are three bonuses for you to enjoy during this event, so let’s take a look at what they are!
Firstly, we have a half hatch distance reduction bonus for any egg placed in an Incubator during the event. Just remember — this doesn’t count for eggs placed in Incubators before the event begins. Secondly, Team Rocket balloons are appearing more frequently through the Horizons event. Our final bonus is tied to the costume Pokémon as their shiny odds have been increased.
On the subject of these costume Pokémon, Cap’s Hat Pikachu and the new Liko Pin Floragato are appearing throughout the Horizons event. Since you can’t evolve a costume Sprigatito into Liko Pin Floragato, you’ll need to catch this Pokémon in the wild or from a three-star raid if you want to add it to your collection. Maybe you’ll get lucky with that shiny odds bonus and find one with colour variants…
Any Cap’s Hat Pikachu caught during this event will know the Electric-type Charged Attack, Volt Tackle. Here’s the Power information you need to know for Volt Tackle:
- Trainer battles — 90 Power and decreases Defense by one stage
- Gyms and raids — 90 Power
Alongside these new costume Pokémon, the Horizons event marks the release of three new Gen 9 Pokémon in Pokémon Go — Tinkatink, Tinkatuff and Tinkaton. You can learn more about these Pokémon, including how to evolve them, in our how to get Tinkatink guide. All three are Fairy and Steel-type Pokémon, so you might find them a worthy inclusion to your Pokémon teams.
The following Pokémon are appearing more frequently in the wild throughout this Pokémon Go event:
- Cap’s Hat Pikachu
- Quagsire
- Shuckle
- Slugma
- Nosepass
- Snorunt
- Sprigatito
- Liko’s Pin Floragato
- Fuecoco
- Quaxly
- Pawmi
It’s worth taking some snapshots during this event too as Pokémon seen in the anime — Cap’s Hat Pikachu, Sprigatito, Floragato, Fuecoco and Quaxly — are partaking in photobombs. There’s also, as always, PokéStop Showcases to partake in.
When it comes to raids, you’ll can to battle the following Pokémon during this event:
One Star | Three Star | Five Star | Mega |
---|---|---|---|
Cap’s Hat Pikachu | Charizard | Blacephalon (Until 10am on Monday 21st April) | Mega Sceptile (Until 10am on Monday 21st April) |
Chansey | Alolan Muk | Stakataka (Until 10am on Monday 21st April) | Mega Mawile (From 10am on Monday 21st April) |
Rockruff | Metagross | Cresslia (From 10am on Monday 21st April) | |
Liko’s Pin Floragato |
The Horizons event also changes the eggs pool for any 7km egg collected by opening Gifts or via Route’s Gift Exchange during it. This egg pool will include:
- Elekid
- Hatenna
- Charcadet
- Tinkatink
Don’t worry if you’re unable to hatch a Tinkatink during this event! It will be added to the 10km egg pool upon its conclusion.
Finally, we have the pay-to-play Timed Research for this event. It will cost you $4.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. The normal pay-to-play quest rules apply — it’s a nonrefundable purchase, can’t be bought using PokéCoin and, if left uncompleted, will expire upon the event’s end. You can also give it to any player you’re Great Friends or higher with. Purchasing this quest will let you earn encounters with Tinkatink and unlock a new Tinkaton hammer pose.
Hope you enjoy the Pokémon Horizons: The Series Celebration Event! (And didn’t mind my attempts to avoid writing out that full title…)
