Pokemon TCG Pocket Players Point Out Problem With Galaxy Background

Pokemon TCG Pocket players have pointed out a problem with one of the backdrops recently added to the game. Pokemon TCG Pocket recreates the physical Pokemon Trading Card Game experience, but with players collecting the popular cards in digital format, customizing their decks and the way they display the cards.

To do this, Pokemon TCG Pocket players obtain accessories that are used during matches or to display cards and collections for players. One of the community’s favorite accessories are backdrops, which are illustrations used to create display boards and show off a player’s favorite card. New backdrops can be obtained in different ways, such as events, by subscribing to the premium pass, or by buying a Poke Gold pack. A new backdrop is available in Pokemon TCG Pocket, but players found one design choice odd.

On the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit, user PtakPajak pointed out a problem with the new Sparkling Sky backdrop. For them, it didn’t make sense for the devs to place an impressive illustration of the galaxy in the center of the accessory, causing it to disappear when the player inserts a card. To demonstrate their point, they shared two images: one is the empty backdrop, showing the full illustration, and the other is what it looks like after inserting a Dragonite card.

Pokemon TCG Pocket Offers Free Rewards in New Wonder Pick Event

The Sparkling Sky backdrop is one of the rewards in Part 1 of the new Wonder Pick event, which features other Solgaleo-themed cosmetics. In the comments section, one of the players suggested adding transparent card features, which could make it easier to see the full illustration. Another Redditor pointed out that the backdrop is probably illustrated this way because the event focused on Solgaleo, a Pokemon based on the sun. They also speculated that a backdrop with a night illustration could come when Part 2 of the event is released and Lunala-themed items are added. Some players have shared screenshots of cards placed on the backdrop, including the immersive Lillie card.

The first part of the Wonder Pick event is available from May 9-19. During it, players can get new Cosmog and Lycanroc promo cards with a Chansey stamp. Like other Pokemon TCG Pocket Wonder Pick events, the game will have bonus picks that don’t cost stamina, and players can grab promo cards or items such as special tickets. These tickets can be exchanged in the event store for cosmetics other than the Sparkling Sky backdrop: a coin, playmat, card sleeve, a second backdrop, and a cover with an illustration of Solgaleo, a Lillie icon, and up to 50x Shinedust.
