If you’ve been enjoying Resident Evil Re:Verse since it launched in October 2022, we have bad news: support for the game will soon be coming to an end. Capcom has announced that the game’s servers will be shut down on 29th June, meaning that you’ll be unable to download or play the game from that point onwards.
Included for free with every purchase of Resident Evil Village, the multiplayer-focused Resident Evil Re:Verse lets players take part in six-person deathmatch battles. Though while the idea of forming a dream team of Resident Evil characters including Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine and making them battle it out sounds great, in practice it hasn’t wowed fans. In fact, take a peek over on the Steam store and you’ll see that the game has mostly negative reviews.
Despite this, Capcom states that support for the game has been “overwhelming”, and that it has “far exceeded” their expectations. It apparently hasn’t been enough to save the game, though.
Those still playing Resident Evil Re:Verse or those that want to give it a go before it disappears have until 3rd March to purchase the game if necessary as well as any DLC that is available. RP Boosters and the Premium Pass will also be unavailable after this date. Then, on 29th June, the servers for the game will finally be shut down, preventing Resident Evil Re:Verse from being played further. You can find more information on the official Resident Evil website.
Of course, it also means that Resident Evil Re:Verse will no longer be bundled with Resident Evil Village. Now we just wonder how long it will be until another multiplayer Resident Evil game is released. We hope it’s more along the lines of Outbreak than Resistance or Re:Verse.
