Robert Pattinson shot to fame with the hit Twilight series. Though he has now become one of the most acclaimed actors in the industry, Twilight still remains one of his most memorable works in his packed filmography. The Batman star recently opened up about the impact of Twilight two decades after the novels, ahead of his upcoming movie, Die My Love.
Robert Pattinson ‘can’t believe’ he still gets asked about Twilight
Robert Pattinson has had quite a career since his appearance in the Twilight films. From Good Time with the Safdie brothers to Lighthouse with Robert Eggers to ultimately becoming the most acclaimed version of Batman in Matt Reeves’ universe, Pattinson has done it all.
But the actor still could not shake off the popularity he achieved in Twilight. The actor recently discussed this with Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi at the NYC premiere of his upcoming movie, Die My Love.
After speaking about his upcoming film with Jennifer Lawrence, the actor finally opened up about Twilight. Addressing the series 20 years after the publication of the novels, Pattinson said, “That’s amazing. I mean, I can’t believe the legs, the cultural legs that that movie’s had. I mean, it’s just mind-blowing to me, but it’s so cool. There’s so few things from that period which we still talk about. I get asked about it every single day, which is amazing and, you know, I have such fond memories about the whole thing. I’m just so grateful for it.”
Twilight was a hugely successful film franchise. Pattinson portrayed the role of Edward Cullen for five films from 2008 to 2012. The five films, made on a budget of $401 million, grossed around $3.346 billion, making it one of the most successful film franchises in its genre.
Robert Pattinson will be back on the big screen with Die My Love, which also stars LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek, besides Jennifer Lawrence. The film will premiere on November 7, 2025.
