Pokemon fans heading to San Francisco for the 2026 World Championships will be able to kick off the weekend in style, as the San Francisco Giants have unveiled a special baseball-themed event complete with an exclusive Pikachu jersey.
The event takes place on August 27, one day before the 2026 Pokemon World Championships officially begin in San Francisco.
According to the announcement, the Giants’ matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks will serve as a celebration of Worlds weekend and the wider Pokemon festivities taking place across the city.

The headline attraction is a limited edition Giants x Pokemon World Championships jersey featuring Pikachu on the back and San Francisco’s iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
Unfortunately, those looking to get their hands on this electrifying jersey are out of luck, as the Special Event Tickets that include it have already sold out. However, standard game tickets are still available for fans who want to attend the themed night.
Pikachu will also make a special appearance during the game and is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch with a little assistance.
There are also plenty of Pokemon Go-themed festivities to enjoy, as Oracle Park will feature Giants-themed PokeStops and Gyms spread across the stadium. Trainers will also be able to take part in Raid Battles and follow Official Routes around the venue.

One of the biggest draws for collectors will be a special Pikachu encounter featuring an Oracle Park Location Background, while spinning PokeStops at the stadium will reward fans with an exclusive Giants-themed avatar item.

Following the game, attendees will be treated to a special drone show designed to mark the start of Worlds weekend, which runs from August 28 to August 30 and includes both the World Championships and the wider PokemonXP fan experience taking place across San Francisco.
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time a major baseball event has teamed up with a major anime and video game franchise. Back in March, the LA Dodgers revealed a Yoshi bobblehead inspired by Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Nintendo’s iconic dinosaur.
