Every customer has a favorite food that they love and at least one least favorite that they hate, often hinted at through their dialogue. This guide lists every customer’s preferences by map, along with their hunger bar values, so you can plan ahead and avoid penalties.

Loch Ness

Great Cormorant

Hunger: 80, 140 (third value unconfirmed)

Hint: “Got any fish with funny stripes” – Perch is the only striped fish reasonably available when the Cormorant first appears.

Favorite: Perch

Least Favorite: Beithir – the Cormorant sometimes responds “FISH NO FIT IN MOUTH,” and the Beithir is too large.

Eurasian Otter

Hunger: 150, 262

Hint: “Feeling a small snack about now!” – “Minnow” refers to very small fish.

Favorite: Eurasian Minnow

Least Favorite: Arctic Char – the otter says “No colorful fellers for me!” and the Char is one of the map’s red fish.

Osprey

Hunger: 240, 360

Hint: “I like my fish plain and simple. Nothing added” – Smelt are prized for eating whole without preparation.

Favorite: Cucumber Smelt

Least Favorite: European Eel – the Osprey dislikes the “fancy” fish that the Heron loves.

Grey Heron

Hunger: 300, 450

Hint: “Do you perchance, carry unagi?” – Unagi is Japanese for freshwater eel.

Favorite: European Eel

Least Favorite: Brook Lamprey – described as primitive, the Heron sees it as unworthy despite a similar body shape to eels.

Grey Seal

Hunger: 410, 615

Hint: “Fatty fish make my blubber nice and warm!” – Salmon are oily fish rich in omega-3, commonly eaten by seals.

Favorite: Atlantic Salmon

Least Favorite: Ruffe and Three-Spined Stickleback – both have spiny dorsal fins; the seal says “Spiny fish make my mouth hurt …”

Selkie

Hint: “Can you guess my favorite?” – Trial and error is required; Brown Trout are sometimes eaten by seals.

Least Favorite: Eurasian Minnow and Cucumber Smelt – the Kelpie dismisses schooling fish as “weaklings.”

Nessie

Hunger: 1000

Hint: “I hear there’s something quite scary down there…” – the Beithir is a mythical serpent from Scottish folklore, fitting the “giant serpent” description.

Favorite: Beithir

Least Favorite: Eurasian Minnow and Three-Spined Stickleback – dialogue signals they are too small for the large cryptid.

Huatulco

Axolotl

Hunger: 90, 180

Hint: “Small fishies are the best!” – The Northern Anchovy is the map’s smallest fish, size “miniscule.”

Least Favorite: Giant Damselfish through Hoga – any fish sized “Average” or larger is too big.

White-Nosed Coati

Hunger: 140, 210

Hint: “I prefer my fish easy to catch… and easier to eat.” – Panamic Sergeant Major is an early, easy catch with low-level gear.

Favorite: Panamic Sergeant Major

Least Favorite: Cortez Rainbow Wrasse – found in similar areas but its dash makes it slightly harder to catch.

Magnificent Frigatebird

Hunger: 260, 390

Hint: “Got any fancy-lookin’ fish on ya? I’ve got an eye for treasure.” – Scrawled Filefish is visually ornate.

Favorite: Scrawled Filefish

Least Favorite: Cortez Sea Chub – the plain fish hated by the frigatebird but loved by the pelican.

Brown Pelican

Hunger: 340, 510

Hint: “Can you guess my fave? It rhymes with scrub” – “chub” rhymes with “scrub.”

Favorite: Cortez Sea Chub

Least Favorite: Scrawled Filefish – the pelican says “Ain’t one for the gaudier fish,” in direct opposition to the frigatebird.

Atotolin

Hint: “I would love to witness the most uniquely shaped life form you can find” – cornetfish are long and thin, the least typical fish shape here.

Favorite: Bluespotted and Red Cornetfish

Least Favorite: Spot-fin Porcupinefish – described as “spiked and dangerous,” it inflates and is toxic.

Chupacabra

Hunger: 670, 1005

Hint: “I won’t leave without a feast, so make it a big one.” – Roosterfish fits the bill, possibly because chupacabras are associated with large livestock.

Least Favorite: Northern Anchovy through Three-Banded Butterflyfish – all fish of miniscule and tiny size.

Cipactli

Hint: Cipactli constantly needs to be fed in mythology; it has no known favorites or least favorites – it simply eats whatever is given.

Hint: “A senseless beast lurks below… fell it and bring it to me” – the Hoga is a cryptid and qualifies as a “beast.”

Belted Kingfisher

Hint: “Black spots, add flavor.” – The White Crappie has black spots, but the true favorite is Bluegill; this may be a developer inconsistency.

Great Blue Heron

Least Favorite: White Crappie – considered too common or simple for the heron’s taste.

Bald Eagle

Least Favorite: Red Swamp Crawfish – the eagle rejects shelled creatures.

Spotted Eagle Ray

Hint: “Anything easy to eat on hand?” – Summer Flounder and White Crappie are common table fish; in-game tip notes crappie are among the best-tasting freshwater fish.

Least Favorite: Gafftopsail Catfish and Blue Catfish – “Catfish ain’t really my thing.”

Bunyip

Hunger: 840, 1260

Hint: “Bright creatures burn the eyes… I much prefer the dark” – Black Sea Bass is both black in name and color.

Favorite: Black Sea Bass

Least Favorite: Hogfish – its bright red color is the epitome of “bright creatures.”

Alligator

Hunger: 975, 1460

Hint: “I hear there’s something ancient down there, oh how I’d like to taste that.” – Dimetrodons predate the dinosaurs.

Favorite: Lost Dimetrodon

Least Favorite: American Eel – the alligator says “Slimy stuff is the worst,” a reference to the eel.

Uktena

Hunger: 2000

Hint: “I hate those scaly creatures, none of that nonsense for me” – it hates all fish with scales.

Favorite: Gafftopsail Catfish and Blue Catfish (scaleless)

Least Favorite: Every scaled fish. It is indifferent to Red Swamp Crawfish and American Eels, which also lack scales.

Point Nemo

Seagull

Hawksbill Sea Turtle

Great White Pelican

Least Favorite: Titan Triggerfish and Blackspotted Puffer – the pelican avoids “gaudier” fish.

Bottlenose Dolphin

Least Favorite: Common Clownfish – the shark hates its lack of meat.

Mermaid

Hint: “They say you are what you eat so only the most glamorous fish for me!” – Bigeye Pacific Opah and Spotted Parrotfish are ornate.

Least Favorite: Blackspotted Puffer, Escolar, and Ocean Sunfish – all too plain for the mermaid’s taste.

Orca
