If there’s one thing that Ubisoft does well with their multitude of franchises, it’s creating dense environments filled with exploration. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is no different, as the vast world the studio has created is ripe for adventure. Whether it’s the various unique enemies you’ll come across on your adventures or investigating reported Yokai in the area, there feels like an overwhelming amount of content to dig your teeth into.
One such activity is participating in the numerous temples and shrines. Japan is a country of tradition and religion, at least back in the 1500s when Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place. If you’ve ever been to the country, you’ll know that the number of temples and shrines feels infinite, and in Shadows, it’s well represented with some of the most iconic structures in the Kansai region.
Purpose of Temples & Shrines
With each of the temples and shrines, there will either be lost pages that need collecting or shrines that need to be prayed to. Doing so will unlock a good amount of EXP along with a Knowledge point that can be used to upgrade Nao and Yasuke. Some of these locations have surprisingly well-hidden collectibles, but with this guide you’ll have no problem finding them.
The Shirahige Shrine is found in the Omi region of Japan. It is located on the westcoast of the lake.
Lost Page Locations
Shrine #1
One of the most scenic locations you’ll find in all of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Shirahige Shrine is located on the lakeside in the Omi region and features an exhausting hike up a guided pathway, but multiple torii gates, one that extends into the lake similar to the iconic Itsukushima Shrine. Upon entering from the south, you’ll come across a performer’s stage on the right, and on the left there will be the first of four shrines.
Shrine #2
From the first shrine, take a left up the lengthy pathway until you reach a lengthy structure. When you hit this, head left, you will find a couple of priests standing around, with the second shrine being the structure itself. It features three identical sections for offerings.
Shrine #3
As you might expect, the hike up the mountain is far from over, as there are more guides up the path you came from. So, the next reasonable location happens to be up here. Continue to the guided pathway until you reach the small little shrine at the top of the hill.
Shrine #4
Breaking off from the rest of the shrines, the fourth and final one can be found on a deviating path. Go back to the second shrine, and instead of going up the main pathway, head around the other side. There will be another means of going up the mountain, but it doesn’t go as high. Here, you will find three shrines at the top, with the middle one being the shrine to pray to.
