Shortly after Landman‘s Season 2 confirmation, another star has revealed her upcoming return to the series.
As per ScreenRant, Landman star Kayla Wallace (Rebecca Falcone) has confirmed her character’s return to the series via Instagram. Posting a series of behind-the-scenes photos, Wallace tells fans: «Little bit of Season 1. So happy to be back with this team.»
Before the Season 2 announcement, Landman co-creator Christian Wallace hinted to TVLine that a second season would show more of the increasing tension between Rebecca and Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton). As of the Season 1 finale, «Tommy is deeply suspicious of Rebecca and her intentions, and so they haven’t really ever been working exactly on towards the same aims,» Wallace explains. «So that has set up this antagonism between them that if the story was to continue forward, I would expect more of that.»
For those unfamiliar with the series, Landman‘s Paramount+ description reads: «Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.»
A New Cast Member Will Be Joining Landman in Season 2
1883 actor Sam Elliot is expected to have a main role in Season 2 of Landman, and Thorton seemingly confirmed this in a recent interview. Speaking with Deadline about his long-time connections with his Landman costars, Thornton said, «Andy [Garcia] and Demi Moore will figure more into [Season 2] than last season, which is nice because I go way back with both of them, and it’s pretty cool Sam Elliott, who I go back to the mid-80s with.»
Production on Season 2 began on April 2, as confirmed by Paramount via X post, but the streamer has not yet revealed a potential release date.
