One of the best Xbox and PC features may soon be coming to PS5, according to datamined information from fans.
PlayStation exclusives coming to PC is a relatively new concept, but Sony has allowed some of its homegrown talent to come to platforms like Steam. This usually happens after at least a year, to avoid cannibalizing sales of the console ports.
Right now, it’s impossible to buy the PlayStation and PC versions of the game as part of the same deal. That could soon be changing, as a TwitterX user named Amethxst has shared datamined images of a “Cross-Buy” button in the PS5.
PS5 & PC Cross-Buy Could Be On The Way

Currently, cross-buy on console is something only available on Xbox and Windows PC, as owning one version digitally allows people to play it on multiple devices.
However, if the datamined is legitimate, then it’s possible that Sony intends to offer the same deal, allowing people to own PlayStation games across different platforms. There was also a PS5/PC button, adding further credence to the idea that the leak is real.
It’s an odd decision to allow cross-buy, considering that most people who own PS5s aren’t PC gamers, and pretty much every PlayStation console exclusive requires a beefy rig to run properly. It will be useful to some people, but not everyone.
The PS5/PC button might actually be more interesting, as it could hint that Sony is planning on bringing its games to PC at launch, using that button as the label. This might seem like a bad move, but given the previous point about little bleedover between the console and PC gaming audiences, it could be Sony’s attempt to further invest in the PC market and get titles available to them as soon as possible.
