More Star Fox games could be in the works following the successful remake on Switch 2.
Star Fox, a remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, arrived on Switch 2 on June 25 to critical acclaim. We at Dexerto gave it four stars, praising the super fun gameplay and new character moments.
However, many fans have expressed a desire for the series to move past the Lylat Wars story. Five games in the franchise have retold the battle against Andross, and they are eager for new Star Fox content.
While far from confirmation, new comments from one of the game’s voice actors appear to suggest that sequels are a real possibility.

Star Fox voice actor hopes players return for “future installations”
On X, Mick Lauer, the voice of the notorious Pigma in Star Fox, celebrated the game’s release.
“Pig’s outta the bag~ and it’s got my tongue…at a loss for words, so I’ll keep it simple. It’s surreal to let y’all know I voice the Pigma male himself along with Yaru in this new era of Star Fox,” he said.
Although the comments were mostly positive, one fan voiced displeasure with the lack of new story lore (there’s actually a whole bunch) and content, claiming they’d be sticking to older entries and fan games.
In response, Laurer respected the player’s decision, but suggested they’d be return for the next Star Fox experience.
Not sure where the AI claims from…. Had to look it up and didn’t see nothing.
But hey to each their own in terms of the version you prefer! Maybe you’ll be back for future installations!

Now, in no way does this mean another game is happening, but players and reviewers alike have expressed a desire for the remake to be the beginning of more stories in the Star Fox universe.
The series has yet to get a true sequel to the 64 version that perfects and builds upon the already stellar gameplay. Instead, the franchise took things in a totally different direction with Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox Assault didn’t quite have the same impact as 64 did.
We’ll have to see what the future holds and if Nintendo has bigger plans for the space animals down the line.
