Star Wars Isn't the Only Sci-Fi IP That Disney Dreamlight Valley Could Tap in 2025

Disney Dreamlight Valley has made a name for itself by focusing on classic Disney franchises, but the life sim recently brought forth a shake-up by adding Star Wars to the mix. Star Wars may not be part of Disney’s original properties, but its addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley marks an exciting milestone for the game.

Ever since Disney bought Star Wars, the beloved franchise has easily been the company’s most successful sci-fi IP. Over the years, Disney has tended to lean harder into the fantasy realm, but there have been plenty of great original sci-fi stories from the company, as well. One of these sci-fi franchises is Tron, and this year presents the perfect time for Disney Dreamlight Valley to crossover with the underrated Disney IP.

With Tron: Ares Set to Release Later This Year, Disney Dreamlight Valley Has an Exciting Opportunity

  • Tron: Ares is scheduled to hit theaters on October 10, 2025.

Of course, Tron may not be nearly as successful as a juggernaut like Star Wars, but the techno-infused franchise boasts a compelling and unique world that sets it apart in the genre. In the first movie, protagonist Kevin Flynn gets warped into a digital world where he has to fight to survive. The first film was released back in 1982, while its -up, Tron: Legacy, hit the big screen in 2010. Now that Tron: Ares is marking a comeback for the series, Disney Dreamlight Valley has the chance to bring some fun sci-fi imagery to its cozy world.

Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto, Gillian Anderson, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Cameron Monaghan, and Jeff Bridges returning as Kevin Flynn.

Disney Dreamlight Valley's Shop Could Become a Neon-Filled Dream

Tron may be one of Disney’s smaller franchises, but the series has an undeniably iconic aesthetic. The neon digital world that viewers are introduced to is a bare, but incredibly stylish, universe. Between skin-tight suits and futuristic motorcycles, Tron could bring a dose of edgy flare to Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s item shop. Although vehicles can’t be driven in Disney Dreamlight Valley, decorative options like the Elasticycle and Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage exist, so adding Tron‘s bikes is a possibility. There’s one aspect of a Tron crossover that has the biggest upside of all, though.

Tron Allows Disney to Lean Into Heavy Sci-Fi While Also Maintaining its Original IP Reputation

As exciting as Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s Star Wars collaboration is, it could also be controversial for some players. A lot of Disney Dreamlight Valley fans prefer Disney’s original IP, since Star Wars and Marvel are seemingly everywhere in pop culture. Getting to enjoy classic Disney content is a big reason some players love the Disney-based life sim so much. Tron‘s status as an original sci-fi story from Disney would likely make it a better option for a lot of Disney Dreamlight Valley fans overall.

Now that Tron: Ares is marking a comeback for the series, Disney Dreamlight Valley has the chance to bring some fun sci-fi imagery to its cozy world.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the Tron: Ares soundtrack as Nine Inch Nails, marking the first time the two have created a film score under the band’s name.

Right Now, Tron's Place in Disney Dreamlight Valley Remains Unclear

There are still several months ahead before Tron: Ares premieres, so only time will tell if Disney Dreamlight Valley brings the sci-fi franchise into the fold. If the Star Wars crossover proves successful, then it’s likely that developer Gameloft will bring players a second round of content, but this potentially risks taking away the game’s special identity.

As of now, it has yet to be determined whether the MCU will come to Disney Dreamlight Valley or not, but the Star Wars crossover has definitely opened the door. While that may be tempting, looking to Tron instead may be the best way to honor the spirit of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
