The endgame has officially begun with The Boys Season 5! We’ll likely see sacrifices, shocking deaths, executions, and more like never before. For four seasons, The Boys have somehow survived the madness, but now no one is safe.
The war between Butcher and Homelander is about to reach its climax, and every confrontation could end with someone’s death. That’s why we’ll be running a death counter and keeping track of major characters’ demise in the show.
Death Counter for The Boys Season 5: Major Death So Far – 1

While the core team in The Boys remained intact for four seasons, the show hasn’t shied away from killing off a few major characters in the past. But now we’re at the final season, so there will be more carnage than ever, and we are going to keep count of it all for you!
The Boys Season 5 Deaths: Who Dies in Today’s Episodes?

Here’s an episodic breakdown of who died in The Boys season 5:
- Episode 1 – Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite
A chain of events leads to A-Train dying as a hero in the first episode of The Boys Season 5. He saves Hughie from Homelander’s attack and then pulls him and Butcher out of the “Freedom Camp.” However, Homelander chases him down, blasting beams at A-Train.
He sees a girl walking by, and in a brief moment of redemption, instead of running through her as he did with Hughie’s dead girlfriend, A-Train holds back, stumbles, crashes, and is captured by Homelander. He insults Homelander, who then snaps his neck, while A-Train laughs away in the face of death.
We also had some minor deaths, like Homelander slicing off the head of a Vought exec (off-screen) for liking Starlighters’ post. During the camp infiltration scene, there were several civilian casualties, plus Mother’s Milk choking Love Sausage to death most disgustingly and unimaginably. But hey, it’s The Boys, so what do you expect?
- Episode 2 – Teenage Kix
Feeling alone and defeated after A-Train’s death, Homelander brings Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy back. The Boys head to test out the Supe-killing virus on Rock Hard, and cross paths with Soldier Boy, who traces them back to Rock Hard’s home.
Here, Frenchie drops the substance, and the virus takes its effect. Both Jetstreak and Rock Hard pour out black bile from their mouth as Soldier Boy begins to grow boils on his face, and is barely able to breathe. The three supes are taken out in body bags, but at the end, Soldier Boy rises, so no major character deaths occur in this episode.
There were some near scares with Hughie falling from the sky, but for now, The Boys are safe. However, it does set the expectations for what’s to come next, and supes like Kimiko or Starlight could die (and even willingly so) if the virus spreads.
We’ll continue updating after every episode, keeping track of all narrow escapes and characters lost along the way. So, stay tuned because the road to The Boys Season 5 finale is soaked in blood. Let us know which characters you are rooting for!
The Boys is currently streaming on Prime Video (USA).
