The Morning Show Star Shares Exciting Update on Season 4

Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, which follows the inner workings and culture that go into a network news morning television show, is gearing up for its fourth season premiere. The four-time Emmy Award-winning series is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Sept. 17, and one of its stars is dishing about what to expect when the series returns.

The Morning Show’s third season premiered nearly two years ago, on Sept. 12, 2023, so fans have been waiting a while to see what is happening with their favorite characters. Karen Pittman, who plays Mia Jordan, a producer on the titular morning show, said, per The Hollywood Reporter, things are going to get “wild” for the fourth season.

“A Lot Happens” In Season 4

“It’s a wild ride,” Pittman said of the upcoming season. “We are going to be in New York and Europe in September. We are taking the story much wider, I feel like, than we’ve ever taken it before. I’m so excited to be a part of the story that they’re telling in Season 4. A lot happens with Mia. She goes for it. A lot happens for a lot of people,” Pittman teased.

Jennifer Aniston also commented on Season 4 in a new interview with People, describing the challenges of filming the show.

«The Morning Show is just a beast to film. It is layered, it’s complicated, it’s emotional, it hits on a lot of topics and current events, so let’s just say, it’s not Friends,» Aniston said. «[Filming the series] takes a lot out of you. [Co-star Reese Witherspoon and I are] involved in every single aspect of the show, on top of just the performance side, which is a big piece of it. But I’ve got incredible support, and we have such an incredible team.»

The official synopsis of the series, per Apple TV+, reads: «With the UBA-NBN merger complete, the newsroom must grapple with newfound responsibility, hidden motives, and the elusive nature of truth in a polarized America. In a world rife with deepfakes, conspiracy theories, and corporate cover-ups — who can you trust? And how can you know what’s actually real?”

The last season of the show focused on the network’s corporate struggles, but so far, details are scarce regarding the direction The Morning Show will take for its fourth season. The series is inspired by the 2013 book Top of the Morning, by Brian Setler, and stars Jennifer Aniston as Alex Levy and Reese Witherspoon as Bradley Jackson. Aniston and Witherspoon also serve as executive producers on The Morning Show.

Aniston Set to Star in Another Apple TV+ Series

It was recently announced that Aniston will be leading a new project for Apple TV+. The streamer, per Deadline, just gave the green light for a new show based on Jeannette McCurdy’s (iCarly) memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died. The show, billed as a dramedy, will star Aniston, and she will also executive produce.

I’m Glad My Mom Died will be executive produced by McCurdy and Ari Katcher, who will also serve as co-showrunners. The duo is also writing the script. The upcoming series, like many of Apple TV+’s shows, will feature 10 episodes. The new show will combine the drama that McCurdy faced as a former child actor while also dealing with her domineering mother.

The description of I’m Glad My Mom Died states that it will “center on the codependent relationship between an 18-year-old actress in a hit kids’ show, and her narcissistic mother (Aniston) who relishes in her identity as ‘a starlet’s mother.’” Aniston is the only cast member to be announced so far.

The first three seasons of The Morning Show are streaming on Apple TV+. Season 4 drops on Sept. 17.
