Samsung says the Galaxy Z TriFold will launch first in Korea on December 12th, 2025, before rolling out to markets like China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE, and eventually the U.S. The phone is set to arrive stateside in the first quarter of 2026, according to a press release, though exact timing hasn’t been confirmed. A closer look at the features, displays, and design choices

The Galaxy Z TriFold’s headline specs focus on power and storage: it comes in a single configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, which should be more than enough for heavy multitasking and large app libraries. Samsung is one of our favorite phone brands, partially because of its standout first-party apps, so the ability to run three apps simultaneously on separate screens is a game-changer.
That flexibility is why Samsung is pitching this device as a mobile workstation. With the multi-screen setup, you’d be able to stay on work calls while digging through your email or double-checking details in a slideshow. And if you’re a mobile-forward worker, it’s significantly lighter and more compact than any laptop, making it easier to carry and use anywhere.
On top of the groundbreaking design changes here, Samsung is aiming for the Galaxy Z TriFold to be a flagship model for the company across the board. Here are some more specs to consider, straight from Samsung:

Samsung’s foldable story
Can the Galaxy Z TriFold be the king of the foldable market?

Credit: Samsung
Samsung has been a pioneer in the foldable smartphone space since unveiling its first Galaxy Fold in 2019. The company quickly up with the Galaxy Z Fold2 in 2020, introducing innovations like the Infinity Flex Display and Hideaway Hinge, while later models added features such as waterproofing and under-display cameras. That same year, Samsung expanded its foldable lineup with the clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip series. The company has maintained a steady cadence of annual updates, with the Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 arriving in 2024, by the Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 in 2025.
While the foldable market remains relatively niche, competition has grown. Chinese brands such as Huawei and Honor have entered the space with some smartphones that are worth importing. Huawei launched a second-generation Mate XT this year and Honor has been expanding foldable offerings internationally.
We’ll have to see how the Galaxy Z TriFold stacks up against other foldable phones when it launches in the U.S. next year. Until then, make sure you do your research on foldable phones before you jump into the space — there are definitely some drawbacks.
