The Simpsons' Creator Predicts 'Hatred' of Elon Musk Will Power Tesla Cars

The Simpsons’ creator Matt Groening has made a “prediction” about the future of Elon Musk’s electric-powered Tesla cars.

The legendary animated show is infamous for correctly predicting the future, including Donald Trump’s future U.S. presidential victory. Groening wisecracked with a few more predictions at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, including one about Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.

The Simpsons’ Matt Groening pokes fun at Elon Musk hate

Groening was asked about The Simpsons’ history of poking fun at theoretical future events that wind up becoming reality. As reported by Deadline, the cartoonist jokingly said that the “conspiracy theories” surrounding the show are “true,” and went on to provide more “predictions.”

Groening said that “Statue of Liberty will be returned to France when no one in America can remember what the word ‘liberty’ means,” and that “electric cars will use a new energy source powered by a hatred of Elon Musk.”

Elon Musk is no stranger to Groening and The Simpsons. The billionaire appeared on the season 26 episode ‘The Musk Who Fell to Earth’ back in 2015, back when Musk was a less divisive figure than he is today.

Since then, Musk has acquired Twitter and renamed it X, using the social media platform to advocate for the reelection of Donald Trump as President of the United States. Recently, the controversial entrepreneur has fallen out of favor with the administration he helped elect, over a series of X posts criticizing Trump’s recent tax and spending bill. This resulted in Musk posting that Trump was included in the Epstein files.
