The starter teams in Pokemon Champions - which starter should you pick?

It’s more complicated than you think.

Like all Pokémon games, Pokémon Champions will open with the need to pick your starter. You will be presented with a number of different Pokémon to pick from, but each one also comes with a team. This is a very important addition, as you will need to pick from this team for your early battles.

Which starter should you pick in Pokémon Champions?

Frankly, there is a lot to consider here, but mostly you need to think about what you can move over from your Pokémon Home. If your bases are pretty much covered, then you can just pick any Pokémon that you want, as these will be a free, permanent addition to your Dex in Pokémon Champions.

As far as picks go, they are pretty balanced, and will give you a pretty good starting team if you are coming ot the game completely fresh. That said, there are some strong options to consider. Charizard is a huge fan-favorite for a reason, and he’ll come with Blaze, which is a great move. Gardevoi is a Fairy and Psychic type that can be strong early due to overall adaptability, and can come in clutch for awkward enemy combinations.

That said, I went with Tyranitar due to an overall strong move variety, which I tend to value highly, as you can never really know what an opponent’s first pick will be, so being able to dish out multiple different damage types is a strong advantage.
