When I went to see A Quiet Place at the cinema in 2018, it was not something I imagined morphing into a multimedia franchise six years later. Here we are in 2024 and that original movie now has a sequel, a prequel, and before the end of the year, its own video game. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on October 17, just in time for Halloween, and pre-orders for the horror game set in the same universe as the movies from which it has been spun are now open.
The first two Quiet Place movies are set long after the aliens first arrive, whereas their prequel, Day One, details how the invasion began, focusing on the challenge of evacuating New York City. The Road Ahead will have feet in both of those worlds. Its story trailer begins on day one, its lead characters watching the aliens arrive from the countryside. It then fast-forwards 105 days, those same characters desperately trying to stay quiet so the invading aliens don't hear and kill them.
Similar to the movies, it appears a key plot point in The Road Ahead will be the female lead being pregnant. Not ideal in Quiet Place's post-apocalyptic world as even though that world will need to be repopulated, going through childbirth in silence isn't really an option. The Road Ahead's publisher Saber Interactive opened pre-orders for its Quiet Place game alongside confirming its release date, and links to both digital and physical copies of the game across all platforms it will launch on can be found below.

If you place your order for The Road Ahead before its launch on October 17, you'll get a few bonuses. A hospital care package tops the bonus list, giving you an idea of the challenges you're going to face in the game. Batteries will presumably power your flashlight Alan Wake-style, and it seems at least one of the characters you play as suffers from asthma. Something else you really wouldn't want to deal with when hiding from monsters that can track you via every tiny sound you make.
Pre-ordering also gets you a creature animation showcase that will presumably give you the st look yet and the aliens wreaking havoc on the world in this horrific alternate reality. It took a while for the movies to properly show the creatures, and even though they have now been shown on the big screen, it looks like The Road Ahead will give us our best look at them so far, particularly if you pre-order.
