Botany Manor: Chapter 3 — Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Find out how to grow Wolfglove and Pixie Tears in Botany Manor with this guide.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

In Botany Manor, you play as a retired botanist, Arabella Greene, and solve the mystery of how various flowers can bloom. Since the manor is quite large, finding clues and solving puzzles can sometimes be challenging. The puzzles for the flowers Fulguria and Ash Plume that you solved in the previous chapter may have seemed a bit easy, but in this chapter, you will face more difficult challenges.

You will need to solve the mystery of Pixie Tears and Wolfglove while exploring the mysterious places within the manor and learning about the unique characteristics of these plants. If you're ready, let's begin Chapter Three, also known as 'Peculiar Petals'!

How To Bloom Pixie Tears In Botany Manor

Chapter Three begins as you head to the left side of the courtyard with a pool in Botany Manor, called the Orchard. Along this path, you'll spot a round table and a crate filled with toys on your left. On the table, you'll find a letter from Auntie Arabella and a nursery rhyme about a flower called Wolfglove. Start by placing this clue directly into the Clues section for Wolfglove.

Find The Pixie Tear Seeds

Next, follow the path back to the table. You'll come across the house's wooden workshop beside a table with an umbrella. Enter the wooden workshop. Inside, on the left side, you'll discover the seeds of Pixie Tears, one of the flowers you need to solve the puzzle in this chapter.

Similarly, inside this workshop, you'll also find Pot Notes. Here, you'll find the amount of nutrition that can be added to each type of pot. If you ever need to recall the pots you use in the game, their depiction is always in the top right corner.

In short, pots that you use can hold up to 97 grams of nutrition. Then, place the clue named Pot Notes into the Clues section for Pixie Tears.

Find Microscope Slides

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Return to the path of the garden once again. This time, you need to go to the sheltered and columned area directly opposite the gatehouse. Here, you'll see a microscope, and in the suitcase next to it, you'll find some microscope slides. Upon examining them all, you'll notice that Pixie Tears is different from the others.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

At this point, add the Microscope Slide to Pixie Tears' clues section. On the round table to the right of the microscope, there's a note about chloroplasts. When you read it, you'll learn that some plants lack chloroplasts and require organic matter for photosynthesis.

The Microscope Slide you just looked at already supports this. Add the Chloroplasts Book to Pixie Tears' clues section as well.

Find The Seed Table

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Next, return along the path you've followed so far. When you reach the area where you first came, passed the apple tree beyond the table where you read the nursery rhyme and looked at the pig toy, you'll find the Seed Table.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Add soil to the pot. Then, plant the Pixie Tears seed and water it. When your seed sprouts, take the pot and go to the path on your right, where you'll see an old blue door. Open the door and follow the path with round stones. You'll come to an area with a picnic table, and to the left of it, you'll see an old press machine.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Below the press, there's a saucer where you can place your pot. Put the pot there.

Next, turn your back to the press and head towards the picnic table. Behind it, you'll find a table with logs underneath it. On this table, there's a list containing sugar, tannins, and acid values for Apple Blending. What interests you is sugar because, as you remember, Pixie Tears can perform photosynthesis with organic matter.

Remember, the maximum amount your pots can hold is 97 grams. Add Apple Blending to Pixie Tears' clues.

Finally, at one end of this L-shaped table, next to the apples in the crate, you'll see a framed picture. You've found the last clue about Pixie Tears, so place it in the appropriate area. Now, it's time to solve the puzzle of Pixie Tears. The framed picture already shows the appearance of the apples listed in the Apple Blending.

Therefore, you can select the ones you want by distinguishing them based on their appearance.

Pour Apple Juice Into The Pixie Tears Pot

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

What you need to do is pour 97 grams of apple juice into the Pixie Tears pot. You'll need to use the press you placed underneath it. The important thing to know here is that there's no single apple that can give you 97 grams of apple juice. Therefore, you need to press three different apples simultaneously. Here are the apples you need to place in the press:

Apple Name

Sugar Value

Location

Knobby Russet

40 gr

Next to the Apple Blending list

Cat's Head

30 gr

On the round table to the right of the press.

Merlin's Mist

27 gr

On the right side of the framed picture of apples, on the table

After placing the apples in the press and operating it, there is nothing more you need to do. Thus, the flower will bloom. Your next goal is to bloom Wolfglove to complete Chapter Three.

After entering the Orchard and following the path, if you haven't approached the round table on your left, where the pig toy is, do so. And if you haven't read the nursery rhyme here, read it and place it in the clues section for Wolfglove.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Next, what you need to do is enter the stone-columned and roofed area opposite the wooden workshop in the garden. At the end of this area, you'll see a book on a wooden box telling the History of England.

The book is about Priest Holes, which were secret hiding places in houses designed to hide priests, known only to the owner of the house and the designer of these holes, Nicholas Owen. Besides the book, there's a note from Professor Pennyworth stating that he couldn't find the Priest Hole.

Find The Green Table With A Hammer

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Then, leave this roofed area and continue on the path to your right. Before long, you'll see a green table with a hammer on it to your left. There's a builder's note on this table. It mentions a poltergeist believed to be in the tower in Orchard and advises you to stay away from the tower. Don't forget to add the Letter from Builder to Wolfglove's clues section.

Reach The Terrace

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Next, return to the path you always follow and climb the stairs. On the left side of the path, you'll see the tower mentioned by the builder. Remember its location for now and continue along the path. You'll reach a terrace.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Read the book Tower Wind Research on the table across from the Seed Table. It contains the results of wind tests on each floor of the tower. Then, don't forget to add it to Wolfglove's clues section.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

To the left of this book, there's a brochure about Alpine Exploration. The back of this brochure includes details regarding the windspeed and pressure levels based on the location. Include this item, Alpine Weather, in the clues section for Wolfglove as well.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

The next thing you need to do is to open the white door leading inside the terrace. Here, on your left, the stairs leading down are broken and unusable. As you proceed and turn left, you'll come across another door. This is a shortcut to the Orangery, a place you've been before.

But before entering the door, don't forget to take the key from the tray on its left side. It will allow you to enter the Painting Room. Next to the key, there's a note about the broken stairs.

Also before reaching the door leading to the shortcut, turn left, and you'll find an Envelope with a Stamp and a Letter from Natty on a green table. Add both of them to the clues section for Wolfglove.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Don't forget the goat symbol with a star between its horns on the stamp of the envelope. In Natty's letter, she mentions hearing a strange sound in the Alps, and when they reached it, it turned out to be a flower.

Enter The Manor

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Then finally enter through the shortcut door leading to the Orangery, turn right from here, and enter the manor. As soon as you take a few steps, you'll see the locked door of the Painting Room on your left. Open it.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Upon entering, you'll see the building plan of the manor on your right. The most important thing you need to know in the room for now is the construction date of the manor, which is written on the building plan, as 1593.

Across from the building plan, next to the purple flower, there will be a table. You'll find the Invitation Field Trip envelope on it. On the wall just above it, there's the Research Team Photograph.

On the large table behind the canvas, there's another note. This note, written by Mrs. Patterson, is about kitchen scales. On the right side of the note, there's a book about religious symbols. Apart from the Botanical Painting, there's nothing else to examine in this room.

Enter The Kitchen

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

After leaving this room and reaching the end of the corridor, then enter the kitchen. You'll see the Religious Blessing above the table with candles. This blessing was given by Nicholas Owen, the person who invented the priest holes and knows where they are.

Towards the end of this blessing, it says:

Remember the year of construction. For this, friends, is the key.

You need to remember when the manor was built.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Next, turn to the left side, and here you'll find a scale and weights. There's also a suspicious mark on the kitchen cabinet. If you remember from the book of religious symbols, this symbol is Agnus Dei, related to orthodoxy. This means you are getting r to what you're looking for.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Now, you need to solve the puzzle of the scale and weights. There are weights up to nine, and you can place a total of four weights. Do you remember the construction date of the manor in the Painting Room? The answer you're looking for is 1593. Place weights number 1, 5, 9, and 3 on the scale in order. Congratulations! You've found the priest hole.

By solving the puzzle of the scale and weights, you'll also unlock the achievement called History Sleuth.

Reach The Room At The End Of The Corridor

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Proceed down the corridor and reach its end. In this old room, you'll find a Tufted Duck figurine and a Letter from a Priest that you can interact with. Then, use the white door on your left to exit this room. You've reached the bottom floor of the place with broken stairs. First, pick up the seed bag in front of the fountain.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

This way, you've found Wolfglove's seeds. Then, to the left of this fountain, you'll see a white bench with a table on its left side. When you open the box on this table, you'll find some souvenir coins inside. Do you recall the symbol with a star between a goat's horns? You saw it on a stamp.

Check the backside of the coin with the goat icon and don't forget the information, Weisshorn – Switzerland. With Coin Collection, you've also found the last clue for Wolfglove. Additionally, on this table, there's an old Lady Mountaineers Club photograph, and on the floor to the right of the table, there's an Old Advert in the trash.

Find The Covered Table Near The Stairs

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

On the covered table near the stairs, there are additional souvenir coins. You'll also find a notebook titled Field Trip Journal. There's nothing particularly intriguing here. All you need to do is interact with the planks on the left side of the table. This way, you won't need to backtrack, and you'll have repaired the stairs.

Repairing the stairs unlocks the achievement called Fixer Upper.

Go Back To The Terrace

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Once you've placed the planks, climb up the repaired stairs and turn right. This will take you back to the terrace you previously visited. Add soil to the pot on the seed table here. Plant the Wolfglove seed and water it. This will allow the seed to sprout.

Recall Weisshorn among the Souvenir Coins. Then, look across from the seed table. If you read the Alpine Exploration brochure to the left of the Tower Wind Research book, you'll learn that Weisshorn's Windspeed is 40.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Take another look at the Tower Wind Research book, focusing on Test 5/6 page. Here, the test was conducted on the fourth floor with a windspeed of 40. You need to apply for the same test in the tower. Here's what you need to do:

Floor

Window State

First Floor

Open the right wing of the window from the inside.

Second Floor

the windows.

Third Floor

Open all the windows completely.

Fourth Floor

Open all the windows completely.

Fifth Floor

Head Towards The Tower

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Now, take the pot and head towards the tower. Place the pot onto the saucer in the tower. Adjust all the windows as you saw in Test 5/6. To go up, you need to turn the lever located to the right of the Broken Anemometer. If you've opened all the windows correctly, the Wolfglove will bloom.

Finally, you'll receive the Gatehouse Delivery notification. When you arrive at the Gatehouse, you'll see a note from your sister Elizabeth, informing you that she has changed the door code for the library door. The new code will be the initial letters of her name, consisting of three letters.

Return To The Manor

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

Return to the Manor. Look at the family tree painting in the main hall of the Manor, where you will see her name written as Elizabeth Ann Greene. However, when you look at the note below the family tree, you'll realize that the women's surnames on the family tree are their maiden names. So, Elizabeth's full name is Elizabeth Ann Hopgood, and her initials are "EAH".

Open Locked Door

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

o up the red-carpeted stairs on the left side of the main hall. Enter the code "EAH" on the locked door of the Library Hall.

Upon opening the door, you'll earn the Lockpicker achievement.

Botany Manor: Chapter 3 - Peculiar Petals Walkthrough

In this room, there are two doors, one on the left and one on the right. Enter the door on the right, and as you progress, Chapter Three will end, and Chapter Four will begin.
