Buckshot Roulette is a tabletop horror game in which you and a dealer take turns shooting. The dealer loads multiple live and blank shells into a shotgun, and you go first. Shooting yourself with a blank gives you another turn; shooting either with a live round ends your turn. Whoever depletes the others’ “charges” first wins.
The game is an intense battle of probability and luck where you must choose carefully what actions to take and what items to use. In early 2024, Buckshot Roulette introduced a thrilling new game mode, “Double or Nothing.” This mode offers a new challenge along with four new items. Here's how to dive into this mode.
How To Unlock Double Or Nothing Mode
To unlock the Double or Nothing mode, you’ll have to prove your mettle by beating the dealer in the regular game mode, which consists of three rounds.
The first round is a test of luck since you don’t have any items to use. Starting the second round, both the dealer and you will get two random items each time the dealer loads the gun. In the final round, this increases to four items.
Understanding what each item does and optimizing how you use it is crucial to emerging victorious.
Upon beating the regular game, you’ll receive a prize, see the end credits, and the Double Or Nothing Mode will be unlocked.
If you lose during the first and second rounds in regular mode, the doctor who you see smoking in the hallway will revive you with a defibrillator in the bathroom. Then, you can resume from where you lost.
How To Play Double Or Nothing Mode
After successfully completing a run, you’ll notice some pills are now available in the bathroom when you start a new game. Interacting with the pills will prompt a warning which reads, “May impair your ability to drive.” Consume them to enter the Double or Nothing mode.
While the basic rules remain the same, there are some slight changes in this mode. For one, the doctor won’t be there to revive you when you run out of charges. Instead, you'll return to the bathroom and start over as a new player.
Another difference is that the number of items and charges given at the start of every round will be random, and four new items will be added to the game: Adrenaline, Burner Phone, Expired Medicine, and Inverter.
Upon winning against the dealer in this mode, a “Double or Nothing?” message will appear, allowing you to choose yes or no.
Selecting yes means you’ll continue the game and double your earnings, while choosing no means you’ll leave with the money you’ve won.
