Complete every Pantheon challenge to earn the prestigious Godslayer title.
Destiny 2's Into the Light update has added the hardest PvE challenge to date. The Pantheon is an endgame activity where players must beat multiple raid bosses in a single play session, similar to a boss rush or boss gauntlet seen in other games. If you can beat the Pantheon, you'll walk away with great rewards, including adept weapons and powerful raid Exotics.
But those who go above and beyond can earn the Godslayer title, one of Destiny 2's hardest titles to date. You'll need to prove your mastery over all modern raids and their mechanics. If you can manage that, you'll walk away with one of the most prestigious titles in all of Destiny.
Spoiler Warning
This article contains spoilers for all of Pantheon's boss gauntlets.
Extinction Averted
Extinction Averted: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Atraks Sovereign.
The Pantheon: Atraks Sovereign is the first Pantheon challenge tied to this activity, and it's the easiest of the bunch. This activity is set at a -5 Power Delta and has Surges and Overcharge mechanics enabled, increasing your overall DPS when compared to a typical raid. Your fireteam must defeat the following bosses:
- Golgoroth — King's Fall
- Caretaker — Vow of the Disciple
- Explicator — Root of Nightmares
- Atraks-1 — Deep Stone Crypt
It's best to bring Rocket Launchers and Grenade Launchers to this gauntlet. Their burst damage will make the first three fights much easier. For Atraks, we suggest you use Parasite or Grand Overture. Both weapons deal absurd burst DPS and can one-phase the boss if your team is well coordinated.
Checkmate
Checkmate: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Oryx Exalted.
Oryx Exalted is the second Pantheon challenge that is slightly harder than the last gauntlet, featuring a -10 Power delta and a fifth boss fight. The boss composition includes:
- Golgoroth — King's Fall
- Caretaker — Vow of the Disciple
- Explicator — Root of Nightmares
- Atraks-1 — Deep Stone Crypt
- Oryx — King's Fall
Beyond the Power decrease, the major change is the inclusion of Oryx as the final boss. For Oryx specifically, long-range sustain DPS weapons are ideal. Whisper of the Worm, which was recently reissued with craftable perks, is excellent for this encounter. Detonate all four orbs, group up near the middle of the arena, and unleash as many Whisper shots as possible.
Cast Shadow
Cast Shadow: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Rhulk Indomitable.
Another week, another boss. Rhulk Indomitable is the third Pantheon challenge, set at a significant -15 Power delta and yet another boss encounter. The Power deficiency is going to be quite noticeable at this stage, as it's on par with Neomuna patrol and all Legend-tier content. Spec for damage resistance and survivability effects before attempting this.
As for the encounters, you'll need to kill:
- Golgoroth — King's Fall
- Caretaker — Vow of the Disciple
- Explicator — Root of Nightmares
- Atraks-1 — Deep Stone Crypt
- Oryx — King's Fall
- Rhulk — Vow of the Disciple
Rhulk is going to be a serious challenge for most teams. Effects like Woven Mail and x2 Restoration are required if you want to survive Rhulk's attacks during the damage phase. As for DPS, use Rocket Launchers or Grenade Launchers. Rockets are preferable since there's less risk of blowing yourself up, and Wolfpack Rounds from Gjallarhorn will track Rhulk automatically.
Deity Destroyed
Deity Destroyed: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Nezarec Sublime.
The fourth and final Pantheon challenge is Nezarec Sublime, featuring a -20 Power delta and two additional bosses, not just one. Nezarec Sublime is easily the hardest challenge of the bunch and will be nigh-impossible for most LFG teams. Get a fireteam together that you can trust—this gauntlet will be brutal. You must kill a total of eight bosses throughout the run, all of whom will be at Contest Mode difficulty. Those bosses are:
- Golgoroth — King's Fall
- Caretaker — Vow of the Disciple
- Explicator — Root of Nightmares
- Atraks-1 — Deep Stone Crypt
- Oryx — King's Fall
- Rhulk — Vow of the Disciple
- Riven of a Thousand Voices — Last Wish
- Nezarec — Root of Nightmares
Teams are going to seriously struggle with Caretaker, Atraks, and Riven. Caretaker has a brutal DPS check on each floor, Atraks' clones can kill unsuspecting Guardians with ease on Contest, and Riven is almost never done legitimately. There's a good chance that Bungie changed Riven's encounter to prevent one-floor cheesing. If they did, we highly recommend you create or grab a callout map of each floor and Riven's eyes before you start.
Here's what we suggest for each encounter:
- Golgoroth: Rocket Launchers and Grenade Launchers work fine. Lucky Pants Hunters can get easy critical hits here.
- Taunters should use Arbalest to one-tap Golgoroth's back.
- Caretaker: Bring Rocket Launchers with either Outbreak Perfected or Touch of Malice as a backup. Caretaker has brutal DPS checks that will burn through ammo, so you'll want a good DPS Primary on standby.
- Those on add clear should run Heavy Ammo Finder, double Heavy Recon mods, and an Exotic Primary to spawn ammo for their team.
- Aeon gloves and Cenotaph Mask might work on the enemies in the Glyph room.
- Explicator: Use Grenade Launchers. DPS windows are incredibly small. Also, bring a Cenotaph Warlock with Divinity to debuff the Tormentor.
- Atraks-1: Assign a Dawnblade Warlock or Banner of War Titan to each floor. Run double Arc Resistance on your chest, and bring a Cenotaph Warlock to spawn ammo from Servitors.
- DPS checks should still be fairly easy if everyone's running Parasite or Grand Overture.
- Oryx: Bring Whisper of the Worm or Leviathan's Breath.
- Rhulk: Keep your distance from Rhulk at any cost. Melee Resistance is worth running. For damage, use Rocket Launchers.
- Riven: See if it's possible to cheese the fight:
- Cheese: Bring as many Behemoth Titans as possible. Use every Stasis Artifact mod, then spam Glacial Quake's heavy attack on her feet. This should kill Riven in a few seconds.
- Legit Clear: Create clear callouts for symbol cleansing. Bring a 72 RPM Sniper Rifle to break Riven's eyes.
- Nezarec: Taunt Nezarec as soon as possible. Take cover when he creates an elemental storm.
- If you're on PC, cap your FPS to 60 for this encounter specifically. Playing at a higher framerate will cause the storm attack to instantly kill you. We wish we were joking.
Conquer The Crypt
Conquer the Crypt: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Atraks Sovereign with a high score.
This Triumph requires you to achieve a Platinum rating in all Atraks Sovereign encounters. Beat each encounter within the bonus time limit, and you'll always achieve a Platinum score. This is only tricky with Caretaker since you need to damage them over three floors. If you can lower the Caretaker's HP to the last 20%, you can skip a floor or two. This is easiest to do with Grenade Launchers and proper buff and debuff stacking.
Unseat The King
Unseat the King: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Oryx Exalted with a high score.
Similar to the last Triumph, you must achieve a Platinum rating in all Oryx Exalted encounters. For Oryx specifically, you'll only have enough time to get one DPS phase in, maybe two. Grenade Launchers will be needed here. Use Tractor Cannon or Shadowshot to inflict a 30% debuff, run three Surge mods that match your Grenade Launcher, and use a good damage perk like Bait and Switch to melt Oryx.
Double-Edged
Double-Edged: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Rhulk Indomitable with a high score.
Double-Edged requires you to earn a Platinum rating against every boss in Rhulk Indomitable. For the Rhulk fight, consider bringing Divinity and multiple Lucky Pants Hunters. Divinity will give Rhulk a massive weakpoint and constant 15% damage debuff, greatly increasing the burst DPS of Lucky Pants Hunters. This also makes Sniper Rifles a solid choice for backup DPS.
At The Zenith
At the Zenith: Complete all encounters in The Pantheon: Nezarec Sublime with a high score.
Once again, this Triumph requires that you earn a Platinum rating on all Nezarec Sublime encounters. Bear in mind that all of these score challenges track on a per-encounter basis, so you don't need to hit Platinum consecutively throughout the run. If you miss one encounter, you can always retry later.
Nezarec shouldn't give teams too much trouble since he has a small health pool. Riven will entirely depend on whether she can be cheesed. If so, use Behemoth Titans to quickly kill her on the first floor. If not, callouts are going to be key. No mistakes can be made, but you'll have a much more relaxed DPS check since you'll get to damage her Taken pimples while descending the tower.
Rising High
Rising High: Earn points across all encounters in The Pantheon.
Rising High tracks your Pantheon score across all successful attempts. You must earn a cumulative score of 1,500,000 to finish this Triumph. This is surprisingly easy to do if you can achieve a Platinum rating on each boss fight. We suggest farming The Pantheon: Atraks Sovereign to get this done quickly, as it's the easiest boss gauntlet of the bunch.
Mountain's Peak
Mountain's Peak: Earn points across all encounters in The Pantheon.
Mountain's Peak is the same as Rising High. You must earn a cumulative score of 3,000,000 across all Pantheon runs. A single Platinum clear of Atraks Sovereign should complete this Triumph for you. Find a team that meshes well with your playstyle, and optimize your damage rotation to hit the bonus timer.
