In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are dozens of iconic Disney and Pixar characters to befriend! Each of them have specific quests for you to complete as you build relationships with them. Finishing the quests will reward you with unique items and additional friendship points with the corresponding character.
Mulan is glad to be part of the village, but there's something missing for her. She wants to bring more life to the valley and share traditions from home with her new friends. Here's how you can help her put on a Shadow Play about her adventures with Mushu during the Forgetting.
How To Unlock The Shadow Play Quest
To unlock this quest, you'll need to reach friendship level four with Mulan. You'll also need to have unlocked Mushu and Minnie Mouse for the quest to start. Once all the conditions are met, speak with Mulan to begin.
She wants to share the shadow plays she grew up with by bringing them to the village. You'll need to help her get everything together. You'll need to talk to Minnie about making the puppets for the theater, then gather the materials for the Shadow Theater yourself.
You'll need the following materials:
- Tinkering Parts (2)
- Ropes (5)
- Hardwood (6)
- Softwood (12)
Bring everything to Mulan once you're ready. She'll thank you and send you off to Mushu, who needs help with the lighting.
How To Craft The Draconic Garnet
Talk to Mushu to see if he needs help with lighting up the shadow play. Unfortunately, no matter how much fire he breathes, the flames still go out in the middle of the show, so he needs you to speak with Merlin about getting some magical help!
As always, Merlin knows just what to do. He gives you plans to craft an Empty Draconic Garnet, which Mushu can light. To build it, you'll need:
- Shiny Garnet
- Dream Shards (4)
- Coal Ore (12)
Go to your Crafting Station and put it all together. With the newly made Empty Draconic Garnet, go to Mushu so he can make it shine. He'll breathe fire and return the Draconic Garnet to you. All that's left is to bring it to Mulan.
Where To Place The Shadow Theater
The final steps for this quest include choosing the best place for the shadow play to take place. Mulan gives you the Shadow Theater as a furniture item to place and trusts your judgment.
Mulan recommends placing the Shadow Theater at night to make it shine, but you can adjust the time of day displayed in your graphics settings if you don't want to wait.
Place the Shadow Theater anywhere you like. When you leave the furniture menu, you'll get to take a photo with everyone in attendance!
Talk to Mulan afterward to celebrate the success of the shadow play and conclude the quest. You'll get to keep the Shadow Theater and earn additional friendship points with Mulan as thanks.
