This article is part of a directory: Dragon's Dogma 2: Complete Guide And Walkthrough Table of contents

Mastering different vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 takes time and patience, as well as aa bit of knowledge. To unlock the most elite and powerful skills, you'll need to find the right maister that can help. If you're a sorcerer, you're looking for Myrddin.

Myrddin has a request that will take a while to complete, if you don't know where to look. He wants a collection of specific grimoires, but he's not the only one looking for them. How you handle the situation will determine the outcome of not just this quest, but another as well. Thankfully, we can help you get the best outcome!

Where To Find Myrddin

Finding Myrddin's house in Checkpoint Rest Town isn't too hard, but getting in will take a bit of planning. Unlike most NPC's houses, you can't just walk right in uninvited. Myrddin is a refined gentleman, and you'll need to show that you're someone of his caliber.

You'll need to don your Courtly Breeches and Courtly Tunic again to speak with Myrddin. He'll come out and greet you, so follow him inside to learn that he's looking for several grimoires to complete his collection.

Where To Find The Grimoires For Myrddin

There are five grimoires that Myrddin will ask for, though you only need to bring him three to complete the quest. The books he's looking for are as follows:

Grimoire Name

Description

Location

Fulminous Shield

Reading it casts the spell High Thundermine.

Purchased from Dudley, the traveling merchant, in Melve for 5,000 gold.

Howling Blizzard

Reading it casts the spell High Hagol.

Found in a chest on the second floor of the Waterfall Cave, above the chamber with a Chimera.

Let There Be Light

Reading it casts the spell Empyrean.

Found in Myrddin's home at Checkpoint Rest Town. Use the second floor balcony to sneak it and take it from the desk, among other grimoires.

Nation's Death Knell

Reading it casts the spell Meteoron.

Found in a chest on the second floor of the Waterfall Cave, above the Chimera fight. Another copy can be found inside the Ancient Battleground during the Tolled To Rest quest.

Towering Earth

Reading it casts the spell High Seism.

Given by Waldhar after freeing him. Speak to him in the vaults.

Myrddin isn't the only one looking for these books! Trysha in the Spellbound quest requires these grimoires as well, and there are only so many copies to go around.

Additionally, you can create forgeries of the books to give him. Make your way to Ibrahim's Scrap Shop and make duplicates of the grimoires.

It will cost about 6,000 gold per copy, and it takes a day for Ibrahim to create his masterpieces, but it will let you complete the quest and keep the original grimoires.

Should You Give Myrddin The Grimoires?

Giving Myrddin the grimoires will complete the quest, but how you give the grimoires to him matters. Since the Spellbound quest also requires them to unlock the second Sorcerer Maister spell, you'll likely want to complete both quests.

If you give Myrddin the original grimoires, you won't be able to complete Spellbound, as a majority of the grimoires must be original copies for Trysha to learn from them. Instead, give Myrddin the forged copies of the books for the best outcome. They're identical, but lack magick.

This will satisfy his requirements and he'll reward you with Myrddin's Chronicle, which unlocks the Maelstrom spell, and the Ares Morpho Robe.
