This article is part of a directory: Dragon's Dogma 2: Complete Guide And Walkthrough Table of contents
Each vocation in Dragon's Dogma 2 represents a unique style of play that reflects a certain theme. For example, Fighters and Warriors prefer up- melee combat, while Sorcerers and Mages will do well to use range to their advantage. The Warrior Vocation is particularly suited to a brawling playstyle.
If you prefer to take the fight to your enemies without hesitation, then the Warrior's aggressive Skills will allow you to stay engaged in battle. With a focus on offensive pressure and high damage, the Warrior is one of Dragon's Dogma 2's best vocations for melee lovers.

What Are The Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Warrior Vocation?
Strengths
Warriors are a slow-swinging high-damage vocation that uses a massive greatsword to decimate both groups of enemies and strong single targets.
Their charged attacks are extremely potent, especially when properly timed and aimed at a foe's weak point.
The Warrior is particularly good at closing gaps between you and your enemies when combining the length of their sword with certain Core Skills that allow the Warrior to barge into foes.
Warriors are excellent tanks and damage dealers that are a perfect blank canvas for Mages to augment with elemental damage that will pulverize unsuspecting enemies.
Be bold and don't be afraid to grab larger enemies and attack them.
Weaknesses
Despite their immense power, Warriors have extremely slow attack speed, as each swing of their swords requires a second or two of windup before you connect with an enemy.
This vocation, sadly, doesn't have much in the way of active defense, aside from Tidal Wrath, the Warrior's primary counterattacking Weapon Skill.
The timing of this parry is difficult to master, as is the case with the Warrior vocation as a whole.
Luckily, Repulse , one of the Warrior's Core Skills, can also parry enemy attacks. More on that below.
The Warrior's biggest weakness is positioning, as you must be superb at finding the right spot to begin an attack swing, or else you will whiff completely.
Lastly, the Warrior boasts no elemental attacks of their own, so they must be supported by an ally to deal elemental damage.
Once you accept that whiffs are normal, you can begin to hone your timing and become more adept at starting your attacks in the spot the enemy will be, rather than where they are at that moment .
Warrior Weapon Skills

Warrior Core Skills
The Warrior boasts a few excellent Core Skills, which, combined with their Weapon Skills, comprise the vocation's bread and butter.
Core Skill |
Effect |
---|---|
Mighty Sweep |
Sweeps in a horizontal arc. Holding the button turns the attack into a charged slash, and makes you less likely to flinch. |
Stonesplitter |
Performs a mighty downward slash. Follows up with a powerful strike if it connects with an off-balance foe. |
Barge |
Rushes forward, tackling the target and making them flinch. You are less likely to flinch when active. |
Bulwark |
Reduces damage taken during a charged attack. |
Breakneck Strike |
Enables a charged attack to inflict greater harm by unleashing it the instant it is fully charged. |
Chain Of Blows |
Employs your momentum to unleash an additional Mighty Sweep. |
Repulse |
Parries a hostile target's attack by unleashing a charged attack that can knock them off balance. |
The Warrior vocation rewards aggression and gives you every tool you can need to stay in your enemy's face with plenty of steel to keep them on their heels.
Your sword's size increases the knockdown effect's potency, allowing you to stun and knock your foes to the ground.
Combine your Barge Core Skill with charged attacks for a three-pronged benefit:
- It s space
- You will stagger opponents
- You are within range of a follow-up attack while the foe is stunned
This combination of Barge with any of the other Weapon Skills you choose is universally important for being a successful Warrior, as your biggest weakness is your lack of mobility on the battlefield.
Use your weapon's size and your Core Skills to keep yourself engaged with enemies, as you'll be ineffective if you're wasting stamina trying to run up to your target.
The Warrior's biggest utility, outside of damage, is disrupting their foes through flinches, knockdowns, and knocking them unconscious .
Warrior Augments
An augment is a passive skill that slightly improves your vocation in some way. These passive buffs are always active, and are a permanent part of your vocation's build once unlocked.
Augment |
Effect |
---|---|
Vitality |
Increases maximum health. |
Impact |
Improves ability to push and pull targets. |
Pertinacity |
Improves your ability to break through an opponent's guard. |
Dominance |
Augments your Knockdown Power. |
Intrepidity |
Reduces cumulation of the loss gauge when receiving damage. |
These augments further improve the Warrior's disruptive abilities, allowing you to more easily knock foes down by breaking their guards, grabbing them, or hitting them again.
Dominance is perhaps the most powerful Augment for Warriors, and is worth the cost.
Intrepidity, despite its 5,000 Dcp cost, is also particularly useful as it will extend the amount of time you can go adventuring without worrying about your loss gauge.
