Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes — The Greatwood-East Walkthrough

The Greatwoods in Eiyuden Chronicle features a complex matrix of transporting plants. We’ll show you which plants take you to which locations.

The Great Wood is a pretty interesting little dungeon. It is the first time you will be introduced to the Spitting Plant, which is a recurring element in a number of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes dungeons. And that section in particular can be pretty confusing if you are looking to claim all the treasures hidden in The Great Wood.

This guide will take you through the entirety of The Great Wood, and help you locate every treasure. We've even provided some handy-dandy maps that will indicate the travel patterns of each spitting plant, as well as indicate the location of every treasure chest.

The Great Wood-East

The first diversion is in the southwest corner and will take you to a chest with 1500 bacqua inside. Follow the path north, and at the next fork in the road take the north path to get some Scale Armor. Backtrack and take the western path, and travel north. You'll run into another fork where there is a path traveling northwest and another traveling southeast. The southeast path will take you to a chest with three Runeshards of Fire 1.

Head north, and you will run into a chest with 1500 bacqua inside. Follow the path east, and circle around south, and you'll run into Gieran. There is a chest with Anti-Confuse Beads near him too. Finally, head north to the exit, and the path to the west will take you to some Healing Herbs.

The Great Wood-East Depths

This section of the woods will introduce a unique element to the stage. These are giant plants that will swallow your party, and then spit your party out, launching them across the stage. The above map shows you where you will be thrown to.

When you reach the first platform, you will have the ability to travel down an eastern, northern, or western route. The eastern path will take you to a spitting plant that will send you directly to the end of the stage. The western path will take you to a plant that will send you to an area with a resource gathering point, as well as a Hard Scale Band in a treasure chest.

Traveling north will take you to the central platform with a resource gathering point, circle around it, and go south, and you will hit a chest with two Revival Medicines. Now, interact with the plant there, and it will spit you out onto a platform with another chest that holds a Necklace. From here, backtrack to that first platform, head east, and follow the path directly to the boss.

Ancient Seed Boss Fight

The Ancient Seed doesn't have a gimmick mechanic. However, there is a gimmick: all physical attacks will be countered. This includes melee attacks, ranged attacks, and skill-based attacks. However, hero combos and magic attacks will not be countered. Falward is a great choice for this battle because of this, as his regular attack is magic-based. Fire magic is particularly useful during this fight, as it is what the Ancient Seed is specifically weak to.

If you stun the Ancient Seed, he will not be able to counter for that round. So, if you are feeling risky, try to stun him with a Lian.

Once you beat that boss, just head north and you will reach the Treefolk Village. However, killing the Ancient Seed boss will also give you the Rune of Conservation, which is what you need to recruit Gieran. So, you may want to head back to where you saw him previously and grab him now. Once you proceed to the Treefolk Village, you won't be able to return until you complete the Proving Ground dungeon.
