Elden Ring follows a similar formula to other modern FromSoftware games, combining excellent sword-and-shield combat with otherworldly magic to defeat the horrific enemies thrown at you. Meshing both styles is easier than ever using the versatile Faith attribute and weapons that offer decent Faith scaling.
Faith builds can offer a unique blend of magic and melee combat and add a different feel to the overall experience. In the darkest of times when the challenge you're facing feels impossible to overcome it's important to understand that all you might need at that moment of desperation is a bit of faith.

16 Black Steel Twinblade
The
Black Steel Twinblade is one of the best Faith weapons Elden Ring can offer if you want to customize your weapon without sacrificing decent Faith scaling along the way.
This weapon deals Holy damage that scales with Faith and persists even when you change the infusion.
Despite the higher Strength (18) and Dex (15) requirements, it's not the best weapon for a dexterity build, so lean into your Faith attribute and this weapon should perform well, particularly against enemies weak to Holy damage.
15 Black Knife
There is plenty of talk throughout the game of the Black Knife assassins, shadowy figures that stole death and brought about the first slain demigod, Godwyn. Remnants of them remain, including one in the Altus Plateau that drops one of their infamous blades.
The
Black Knife requires 18 Faith to use, alongside some Strength and Dexterity, and deals Holy damage alongside its physical attack. Though it cannot be infused, its weapon skill brings with it the ability to reduce maximum health for a time, carrying with it vestiges of Destined Death.
14 Golden Order Greatsword
The Golden Order is the basis for all things in Elden Ring, the group that enforces the rule of Marika. The belief that all things converge into one in the world. Like all religious orders, they have skeletons to hide, and the
Golden Order Greatsword is a prime example of such.
This weapon requires a hefty amount of Strength, Dexterity, and Faith to wield at 16, 21, and 28 respectively, though it hits hard and with extra Holy damage to boot.
Gifted by
Radagon of the Golden Order first wife,
Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon , this Greatsword was seen as symbolic of the order. After all that glory, to be lost to the hands of a Misbegotten in the Cave of the Forlorn.
13 Eclipse Shotel
When entering the Mountaintop of the Giants, you may stumble upon
Castle Sol . This castle has an interesting history to it that's touched upon only lightly in the game. Its prized treasure is the
Eclipse Shotel , a weapon ly associated with Death.
The Eclipse Shotel is an interesting weapon in that it can inflict Deathblight. Though this makes it almost useless in PvE encounters, it can have punishing effects in PvP — especially against more passive foes, due to how shotels have such high chip damage. It's the only weapon in the game that can inflict Instant Death, though the costs to use it are high — requiring 25 Dexterity and 30 Faith.
12 Gargoyle's Black Halberd
Halberds aren't a commonly used weapon type in FromSoftware titles, but they are quite effective thanks in large part to their range and area of effect. In Elden Ring, it's hard to deny the
Gargoyle’s Black Halberd as the second-best Halberd in the entirety of the game.
It requires 22 Faith and a staggering 26 Strength to effectively wield, but it is worth every point. Both it and the Gargoyle's Blackblade are rewarded for defeating the Kindred Gargoyle bosses of the Forbidden Lands.
11 Golden Halberd
The
Golden Halberd is a Faith weapon that's only useful for you if your build is also focused on improving your Strength attribute. Alongside its D-grade scaling for Faith, you'll need 30 Strength to meet its effective use requirement. Its
Ash of War: Golden Vow ability buffs your attack and defense ratings substantially for a short amount of time.
Do you remember the Tree Sentinel roaming the field in front of the
Church of Elleh at the beginning of Elden Ring? You'll need to defeat the golden-armored rider to get your hands on the Golden Halberd.
10 Gargoyle's Blackblade
You may be wondering why the
Gargoyle’s Blackblade has the edge over the Black Halberd when it comes to Gargoyle weapons and there's a simple answer for that. Not only is it a greatsword, a weapon type much more familiar to the average Tarnished, but it has D-grade scaling for Faith and a Strength requirement of only 18.
If you come across the Kindred Gargoyle bosses located in the Forbidden Lands you'll be gifted with both of their weapons as your reward. You do have to fight both of them at the same time, so be prepared for that accordingly.
9 Uchigatana
The beauty of the
Uchigatana is that despite it not, at its base, being a Faith weapon, it can be transformed into something Faith-focused builds can cause damage with. If you don't start the game as the Samurai class, you'll need to find a katana or similar sword.
Head to the
Deathtouched Catacombs to snag the Uchigatana for your growing arsenal.
Once you have the Uchigatana, you'll need to use the Sacred Whetstone to mold it into the Sacred Uchigatana. This imbues the weapon with both Faith scaling and Holy damage. To complete the Faith transformation, you'll also need to equip it with
Ash of War: Unsheathe .
8 Cipher Pata
Sometimes Elden Ring will provide you with weapons in the early game, but they won't be usable for quite some time. With the Cipher Pata, you can snag it as soon as you are transported to the
Roundtable Hold . Jump off the central ledge and head left to find it in a room sitting on a bed.
The
Cipher Pata needs 30 Faith to wield, so if you're looking to take advantage of its Holy Damage and an Ash of War called Unblockable Blade, you'll need to invest heavily in your Faith from the beginning of the game.
7 Coded Sword
It's hard to find a Faith-based weapon in all of Elden Ring that is more effective than the
Coded Sword . This beauty can be found in the Lower Capital Church in Liurnia.
You'll need a Faith attribute rating of at least 20 to wield this weapon effectively.
Through upgrades, you can make its Faith-based scaling an S-Grade, but even before that point, you'll find it worth wielding as it starts with a weapon scaling for Faith at a B-grade. It also has its own unique Ash of War titled Holy Blade Slash which is quite useful and fun to use.
6 Envoy's Long Horn
While it also scales with Strength and Dexterity, the
Envoy’s Long Hornprimarily benefits from Faith, with a C-grade in scaling. Aside from the weapon's massive melee abilities, it also comes with theBubble Shower Skill which emits a burst of bubbles from the horn.
You will need to use a somewhat hybrid build as the 23 Strength required to wield this weapon is far from negligible.
The bubbles float gently and then rain down like hellfire onto the nearest enemy, inflicting chunks of Holy damage with each pop. Though it was once used only in meme-worthy builds, this weapon now boasts improved speed, range, and recovery time as of patch 1.09.
5 Barbed Staff-Spear
The
Barbed Staff-Spear is easily one of the best spears in Elden Ring, as this fantastic unique Great Spear can do a little bit of everything. You can rely on its Weapon Skill to deal damage at range, while the basic attacks can eliminate targets at range.
Aside from the C-scaling in Faith that can be upgraded to A-scaling at max upgrade rank, this weapon also deals Bleed damage, which can be combined into a powerful bleed build. However you choose to use this Great Spear, it will prove useful against various terrain and enemy types.
4 Sacred Relic Sword
If you've ever spent hours farming runes at the cliff near Mohgwyn Palace, then you've likely become very familiar with the Sacred Relic Sword (if you were farming efficiently). Aside from being superb at dispatching dozens of (partially) defenseless Albinaurics, the Sacred Relic Sword performs quite well.
While the
Sacred Relic Sword was previously lacking, patch 1.09 helped to improve its all-around effectiveness with the speed, range, and recovery speed increases given to all Greatswords. The Wave of Gold Skill sends a gold wave along the ground that does Holy Damage to all enemies in its path.
3 Blasphemous Blade
Among the most effective Faith weapons in Elden Ring,
Blasphemous Blade makes a rather strong case for itself. The one large drawback it has is its attribute requirements for wielding it effectively.
You'll need ratings of 22 in Strength, 15 in Dexterity, and 21 in Faith. That's a lot of investment and requires a bit of forward-thinking to accomplish.
This is a boss-related weapon that requires you to trade Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy's Remembrance item with the woman known as Finger Reader Enia in the room adjacent to the Roundtable Hold central Site of Grace. Did we mention it does Fire Damage and its weapon skill called Taker's Flames steals health from inflicting damage on opponents?
2 Maliketh's Black Blade
Witless Tarnished. Why covet Destined Death? The truth is, we just really wanted Maliketh's incredibly powerful
Maliketh’s Black Blade – the story implications were just a side effect of our mission to get this sword. While you'll primarily benefit from having plenty of Strength, the secondary benefit of D-scaling in Faith improves the damage even more.
The
Destined Death Skill is worth using the weapon for alone, as the visual amazement can only be topped by the weapon's ferocious strength. This skill becomes even more powerful with high Faith, as the Holy damage scales with that, rather than Strength.
1 Sword of Night And Flame
When looking at the
Sword of Night and Flame has two stances; you can alternate between them to fit your unique playstyle. Choose to either use its fire-damaging fire attack or go the more mystical route and use its Night Comet sorcery.
If you missed the Sword of Night And Flame on your first run through Liurnia, head there to pick it up immediately.
It scales with both Faith and Intelligence in terms of its base damage, which it inflicts at a high rate. After a precarious journey across walkways at Caria Manor in the northwest part of Liurnia, you'll be able to fall through an open roof, and upon landing, you'll see a chest that contains this magically delightful weapon.
