In Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, you encounter various monstrosities that can drop valuable items, such as the Aged One’s Exultation talisman, which is obtained from the Aging Untouchable.
This enemy is immune to physical and elemental damage, and can fill your Madness bar just by looking at you. So, how do you defeat an enemy that neither your sword nor spells can touch?
How To Find And Beat The Aging Untouchable Enemy
The Aged One’s Exultation talisman drops from defeating the Aging Untouchable, a unique enemy that cannot be damaged directly by your weapons or spells. The trick is to parry any of its attacks, which will then make it vulnerable to physical damage.
You can find many Aging Untouchable enemies near the 'Church Ruins' site of grace, but there is one specific enemy that drops the Aged One’s Exultation talisman.
For this, follow these steps:
- Spawn at the 'Church of Ruins' site of grace.
- Exit through the western entrance and continue going west.
- Find a flowing water path and follow it until you reach a large tree.
- From the tree, go north and continue walking until you see paths branching to the north and west.
- Take the path to the west.
- Find the Aged One’s Exultation walking in a patch of water.
How To Parry
As soon as the Aging Untouchable enemy spots you, your Madness gauge will start filling up, and the enemy will try to grab you to amplify the Madness buildup.
The trick is to use a shield or Ash of War that can parry. The
Albinauric Shield ,
Buckler shield, and '
Ash of War: Parry ' are excellent for parrying incoming attacks.
When you see a golden light appear above the Aging Untouchable's head, press the parry button. This will break its stance and make it vulnerable to take critical hit damage.
Parrying the Aging Untouchable will make it vulnerable to physical damage. After successfully parrying, you can use your main weapon or spells to finish off the enemy. No need to parry again.
What Does The Aged One’s Exultation Talisman Do
The Aged One’s Exultation talisman increases your attack power whenever the Madness status effect is triggered nearby. This means the talisman's perk is activated whether you, someone in your party, or an opponent triggers the Madness effect.
This talisman is excellent for players with a Madness build, making it highly effective in PvP. In PvE, only invading Tarnished take damage from the Madness build. Large-sized bosses are unaffected by Madness buildup, as this mechanic is reserved exclusively for Tarnished.
The Aged One’s Exultation talisman benefits most from a pure Faith scaling stat. Spells like The
The Flame of Frenzy ,
Frenzied Burst ,
Inescapable Frenzy , and
Howl of Shabririall trigger Madness, which activates the talisman's effect. The damage from these spells also scales with the Faith stat.
