Any DLC pack worth its salt (or, rather, price tag) adds a bunch of new content to a game you already enjoy, and the Skies of Azoria DLC for Fae Farm more than delivers. Grow a magic beanstalk with seeds you receive in the mail and make your way up to Skyvale to unlock a whole new mystical realm.
You'll meet new characters across Skyvale, find new resources in most Almanac categories, unlock new outfit and wing options, and help another deity, Gusto, feel like themselves once again. There's a lot to see in these three gorgeous, space-themed new areas!
Flutter Up To Skyvale
As soon as you have your wings from the Wisp Mother in the base game of Fae Farm, you'll receive a letter in the mail from someone named Kestrel. This mysterious letter begs you to plant magic beans near each of your homesteads in order to grow a magic beanstalk into the sky. You'll need to water it for three days before being able to head up to the new realm above.
Once you arrive, you'll meet Kestrel, the one who sent you the letter with the beans. He sends you on the beginning of a quest to go meet Gusto, who oversees the realm of Skyvale but hasn't been feeling much like themselves. It's up to your farmer to grow Skyvale crops for them before venturing into the Star Vaults in search of a new resource that goes quite a long way up in Skyvale: an assortment of Star Fragments.
In Skyvale, they've got plenty of new resources for you and tons of fun new options in town. You can buy a few new potions that temporarily create a trail of sparkle, flowers, and more behind your farmer. You could also shop for some new clothing and wing options.
You'll progress through three unique areas in Skyvale, each of which correspond to one of the three regions below in Azoria (Azoria Proper, the Fae Realm, and the mountains). Each area requires you to grow a new beanstalk at your home in the area below, meaning you'll need to progress through the main game to unlock the second and third areas of Skyvale.
You'll find:
- Windhaven floats in the skies above Azoria itself, accessible from a beanstalk near your Homestead farm.
- The Stalight Isles over the Fae Realm, which you'll need to have accessed to get your wings, but the beanstalk comes from an area near your Fae Realm farm.
- Howling Heights looms above the mountains and can be accessed from a rock near the lake by your Mountain farm.
Fast travel is available to and from all three areas using seals made of the new gems you'll find in Skyvale, which we detail more below.
Three New Romance Options
If none of the original six did anything for you, the Skies of Azoria DLC for Fae Farm is the first time we've received new romance options outside the ones in Azoria! If you've got your sights set on that special someone from the sky, you can romance three of the Skyvale characters.
Romanceable Skyvale residents include:
- Kestrel, the messenger who sends you the magic beans and begins your adventures in Skyvale.
- Gryff, the warrior who helps you navigate the puzzles included in the Skies of Azoria DLC.
- Phoebe, the Skyvale fashionista selling new clothes and wing options in the marketplace.
You may or may not be able to divorce your current spouse if someone new suits your fancy. You can reset relationships in the Relationships tab, but the game doesn't always register the change — flirt at your own risk.
All New Resources And Recipes
Six New Crops
Available from Finn's Fine Flora, a shop that opens in the marketplace of Windhaven first and gradually moves throughout Skyvale as you unlock new regions, you can find six new crops available to take home and grow on your farms in Azoria below. Each area unlocks two new crops, with Cottonwood Saplings unlocking immediately on the first island.
- Starry Fruit and Moon Melons are your first new fruits in Windhaven.
- Cloudyflower and Night Root are from the Starlight Isles, and you'll need plenty of them for potion-making!
- Finally, Calabash and Crescent Chili are your final unlocks once you reach Howling Heights.
Finn sells these items not for Florins like Holly does back in Azoria, but for resources you've gathered around Skyvale as payment. Stock up on assorted food items from your resources below, since Finn asks for plenty in exchange for new seeds.
Once you get back down to Azoria, you can plant these new seeds in Star Soil Beds, available by gathering plenty of the new digging resource, Star Sand, from the purplish piles you'll see around all three areas of Skyvale. Chop down some trees while you're at it, and bring home the materials to plant Skyvale crops in their specialized soil beds.
Despite growing in each season, Skyvale crops rot at the beginning of a new season, so be mindful of when you plant them!

Star Vault Puzzles
While most of the dungeons you've faced so far in Fae Farm have been combat-based — and you'll certainly find your share of new Jumbles within, the biggest thing you'll face in Skyvale are the various puzzles inside Star Vaults, the portals you see around town when you first arrive. They're not active until you're sent to find Fallen Stars by solving the puzzles in each vault, and even then, only a few vaults are active each day.
While that does limit how many Stars you can get per day, on the bright side, if you're truly stuck on a puzzle (we definitely were!) you can always head home for the night, get some sleep, and check back the next day to see if it's a better puzzle tomorrow.
Each puzzle requires you to manually navigate a mystical cloudscape in search of a variety of progressively rarer Fallen Stars inside. These puzzles ask you to fly around, hit switches, fight Jumbles, and cast spells to navigate, with your Fallen Star reward often either hidden or inaccessible until you've solved the puzzle.
You're able to collect the previous region's Stars in later puzzles, too. For example, you unlock Fallen Stars in Windhaven, and that's all you'll be able to collect there, but once you're sent to find Rare Fallen Stars once you progress into the Starlight Isles, the puzzles in the Starlight Isles have both Fallen Stars and Rare Fallen Stars. Same for the Legendary Fallen Star puzzles in Howling Heights.
Gusto Needs Your Help, And They Reward Handsomely
Like the three regions of Azoria, Skyvale also has a deity you'll need to help. Here, that's Gusto — they control the weather, and they've got a handful of troubles they'll need you to help solve. Kestrel sends word and summons you to Skyvale for sake of helping this glum Gusto, and it's up to you to help restore their spirit!
The beginning parts of the missions require you to grow Skyvale crops back home and either cook with them to make a fanciful new Skyvale dish we mentioned above, or just to show Gusto the raw crops to help remind them why Skyvale needs their magic. After that, Gusto asks you to bring them Fallen Stars.
The Stars they ask for increase with rarity as you progress through the DLC. You'll first find Fallen Stars in Windhaven, and you'll find them again in the Starlight Isles, but you'll also find the next rarity of stars, the Rare Fallen Stars. Finally, once you get to Howling Heights, Gusto asks to see some Legendary Fallen Stars, each time asking not only for rarer Stars, but more Stars each time.
You'll still be able to find the previous level of Stars in the next region of Skyvale, but after finding the requisite ones for the main quests, you use Fallen Stars from the previous region as currency at Gusto's shop. Gusto is able to do a myriad of magical things, like water your crops overnight for you with a rainstorm, regrow all berries and wild plants by the next morning so you can forage, and so much more.
Completing Gusto's quests in each region unlocks perks exclusive to the region below it, with separate transactions required for Azoria, the Fae Realm, and the Mountains. You won't be able to purchase these perks for an area you haven't been to yet, meaning it'll be a while before you can get perks for the Mountain region, but they're well worth it once you do!
Gusto kindly gives you a few days to buy upgrades from them before moving to the next location until you finish the DLC, but they need time to recharge their magic. You can only use these spells every few days, so be mindful of when you choose to pay Gusto a visit.
Thankfully, since Gusto controls the weather, they know the forecast — they won't allow you to purchase a rain perk for a region where it's already expected to rain naturally the following day, to save you needlessly paying for the perk.
