Fallout 76: How To Get Wood

There is a huge variety of settlements and camps to come across in your journey across the Wasteland in Fallout 76. All of these locations serve as fantastic inspiration for your very own CAMP. Before you can get started, you're going to need a ton of materials for all the building you'll be doing.

Wood is a great resource for the foundation of your CAMP. Instead of hacking away at trees with tools, to get wood, you'll need to scavenge the Wasteland. While this may sound tedious, getting your hands on some Wood is easy when you know where to look.

Where To Find Wood

Wood can be obtained in several ways. The easiest method is to gather Wood from Wood Piles.

Locations like the Gilman Lumber Mill, Sylvie and Sons Logging Camp, and Prickett's Fort have a lot of Wood Piles where you can gather Wood.

The Gilman Lumber Mill is the easiest location to reach, as it's directly south of Vault 76.

The lumber mill also has a Tinker's Workbench, where you can scrap your Junk for even more Wood. Scrapping Junk at a Tinker's Workbench is a solid method for gaining more materials in general.

You can also generate Wood with a Wood Extractor at your CAMP.

Build a Wood Extractor and place it next to a Wood Pile. When supplied with enough power, the Wood Extractor will automatically create Wood Scraps.

You can craft a Wood Extractor with the following crafting recipe:

Wood Extractor Recipe

Circuitry x1

Copper x1

Gear x1

Steel x3

Equip the Woodchucker perk to obtain twice as much Wood when harvesting. The Woodchucker Perk Card can be unlocked once you reach level 17.

How To Use Wood

Wood is used in multiple crafting recipes and can be used to create various structures at your CAMP. Wood structures are a great start until you can obtain the necessary Plans to build more complex structures.

Wood is also used to create your own crafting stations like the Cooking Station, Armor Workbench, and Weapons Workbench.

With these objects at your CAMP, you'll no longer need to rely on the crafting stations you can find at various locations.
