Some dwellers are better than others.
Having Vault Dwellers that can hold their own is one thing, but bringing iconic characters from the other games to your Vault in Fallout Shelter can be game-changing. From the unique equipment they bring to the increased SPECIAL stats they have, these Dwellers will give your Vault an edge.
Finding them, however, is the tricky part. You likely won't have them wander up to your Vault Door and knock politely, so what can you do? Thankfully, we've done the work for you. Here's everything you need to know about the Legendary Dwellers and how to find them in Fallout Shelter.
How To Unlock Legendary Vault Dwellers
Your best chance at finding Legendary Vault Dwellers is opening Lunchboxes. There's a chance you'll find a Rare or Legendary Dweller card, which will send the corresponding Dweller to your Vault door.
You can have duplicates of Legendary Dwellers in your Vault!
Completing specific quests can also reward you with Legendary Dwellers, provided that you survive the encounter and make it back to the Vault safely.
Though the odds are impeccably low, there is a chance that Rare Dwellers can appear at your door like any other Dweller from the Wasteland. Keep an eye out for Dwellers that stand apart from the crowd!
Rare Dwellers have 28 SPECIAL points to start, whereas Legendary Dwellers start with 40!
These SPECIAL Dwellers will keep their Rare and Legendary Outfits and Weapons when they enter the Vault, giving them an edge against any invaders that come your way.
How To Breed Legendary Vault Dwellers
Alternatively, if you have maxed out SPECIAL Dwellers, you can attempt to breed a Legendary Dweller. While not guaranteed, there is a chance that if a pair of Dwellers have high enough SPECIAL stats, their child may be considered Rare or Legendary.
If a Legendary or Rare child is born, they won't come equipped with the corresponding gear, but they'll still have the higher spread of stats.
