Before you can even think about leaving, you need to accomplish the mission's primary goals. These will be clearly displayed on your HUD and detailed in the mission briefing. Keep an eye out for them – they're your ticket to getting out of here alive.

How To Locate The Landing Zone

Once you've heroically achieved the mission's main objectives, it's time to find the extraction point. Look for a distinct hexagonal orange marker on your map. It will have an upward arrow and might have been faintly visible before completing the objectives. This marker signifies the all-important extraction zone – your team's gateway to salvation.

How To Call The Dropship

Head over to the marked extraction zone marked with a tall blue beam. You'll find a panel there, usually glowing or pulsating to indicate its function. Interact with this panel to call down the glorious extraction dropship.

How To Defend The Landing Zone

Brace yourselves, because as soon as you call down the dropship, all hell breaks loose. Enemies will pour into the extraction zone, determined to thwart your escape. This is where your true skills as a Helldiver are put to the test. Hold the zone and fight off the enemy waves for a period of two to four minutes, depending on the mission difficulty.

Here are some tips to help you defend successfully:

  • Teamwork is paramount! Communicate and work together to defend the zone effectively.
  • Consider using defensive tools like deployable turrets, shield generators, or smoke grenades to create cover and hold back the enemy advance.
  • Don't forget about your orbital options! An orbital laser or airstrike can be a lifesaver against large enemy groups. Just be mindful of friendly fire.

How To Do A Late And Early Extraction

The ideal extraction timing lies in striking a balance between completing objectives and ensuring your squad's safety. While aiming to finish all primary and secondary objectives with some time to spare is certainly the "sweet spot," situations might call for earlier or later extraction.

Let's dive into late and early extraction to help you make informed decisions during your missions.

Late Extraction

If the timer runs out before you call down the dropship, a rescue ship will still be sent for your squad automatically. In this scenario, your Destroyer leaves low orbit, making all stratagems unavailable – including reinforcements.

We don't recommend waiting too long to call the extraction ship. The longer you stay on the planet, the more likely you are to encounter overwhelming enemy forces or get caught in a sticky situation.

Early Extraction

If speed is your priority, and you only care about completing the bare minimum, you can calldown the extraction ship as soon as the primary objective is finished. This can be a good strategy for farming specific resources tied to the primary objective.

The downside of early extraction is that you miss out on the potential rewards from secondary objectives. These can offer valuable resources or bonus medals that contribute to your overall progress.
