Here are a few suggestions of how you should be using your APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle against Automatons and Terminids.
Helldivers 2 gives players , medium, and long-range weapons to use and fight for the managed democracy of Super Earth. Each playstyle has certain pros and cons, but it is safe to say that the medium and long-range weapons keep you at a distance from foes as you sweep targets from afar.
The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle is a medium-to-long-range weapon that easily penetrates the armor of its foes. The gun is designed to destroy armored threats from a distance and give your teammates time to pick on smaller units. This guide lists some pro tips for using the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle in the game.
Pro Tips For Using The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle
The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle has three scope options: 50m, 100m, and 200m. The 50m is for quick-scoping the targets since the gun does not have a crosshair. The 100m scope range is one of the best options to go with as it allows you to maintain a medium distance and still be able to take out single highly armored foes.
The 200m scope range must always be used while staying prone. There is a noticeable weapon sway when you use the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle while standing. It is reduced when you crouch and is almost unnoticeable when you go prone.
The 200m is ideal for killing targets visible from higher ground. Ideally, you will spot two or more than two Hulks posted on a mission objective POI. In situations like this, you must go prone, use the 200m scope range, and align the shots with the top left corner of the reticle at the Hulk's eye. Two accurate shots using the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle will blow up the Hulk easily.
Always shoot while keeping the aim to the top left of the crosshair. The gun does not drop the bullet when you aim your shots with reference to the reticle's center. Just keep the aim a bit to the top left side, and the bullet impact will land right where you want it to.
The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle has two reload animations . If you empty the entire magazine and then reload, the animation will take longer to complete . On the other hand, if you have one bullet left in the magazine and you press the reload button, the animation will be short. Regardless of the method, there is no loss of ammo.
How Good Is The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle Against Automatons?
The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle performs absolutely amazing against the Automatons. This gun was overshadowed by the Railgun before its nerf. Now, you can easily two-shot Hulks with the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle, one-shot Devastators, and even blow up the Tanks and tower cannons with this gun.
To kill the shielded and rocket Devastators, aim for their heads while crouched or prone. One headshot will blow up the head and destroy it immediately.
Hulks are one of the feared enemy types of the bots faction. They come in rocket and flamethrower variants. Regardless of the weapon type, they have a weaker and exposed back and red eye at the front.
If you aim the reticle to the top left and land two shots at the eye of Hulk, it will be rendered useless and will blow up. The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle has the potential to destroy Hulks in seconds, and you do not have to carry weapons like the Quasar Cannon or EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank to destroy this type of enemy. This gun can easily be called a Hulk killer!
If you are not good with aim, five to six body shots using the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle at a Hulk's front will also destroy this unit. This is useful if the target is more than 100m to 200m away from you.
Tanks and tower cannons' exposed heat sinks can be destroyed in six to seven shots. However, you will need to reposition yourself since these two foes rotate, and the exposed area does not always stay in one place.
Is The APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle Good Against Terminids?
Even though the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle shines the best on the bot faction, it is still usable against the bugs. However, do not expect the same efficiency level while using this AMR against the Terminids. It's clearly a better weapon against the bots.
The two main threats in the Terminids faction are the Chargers and Bile Titans. Defeating a Charger using the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle will take some time, even if you shoot its leg to damage the front armor.
However, to kill this rampaging bug, you must try to get as many shots as possible at its exposed back. It will weaken the Charger much faster.
On the other hand, defeating a Bile Titan using the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle is impossible. We tested the gun and consumed three magazines by consistently landing headshots, but it did not kill the Bile Titan.
However, the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle is great at damaging the bile sac of the Bile Titan. The best tip we recommend for using this rifle against this mammoth is to burst its acid sac.
This action will stop a Bile Titan from spitting on you or your teammates. The giant bug will only roam the land or chase you for melee attacks using only its leg.
When it comes down to Stalkers, Warriors, Hive Guards, and Brood Commanders, the APW-1 Anti-Materiel Rifle absolutely shreds foes. Most of these bugs will be one shot if you land the rounds on the head.
