If you’re looking for a character that can single-handedly sustain your entire party in Honkai: Star Rail, Aventurine is your answer.
If you've played Honkai: Star Rail for a little while, you likely already know that combat is at the center of the game. While you do need a good damage dealer to win every battle, having a good sustainer is even more important since your team needs to stay alive to gain victory.
The endgame content was already hard enough to force you into using only one sustainer on your party, but it's constantly getting more difficult. Thankfully, characters like Aventurine can deal with the amount of damage required while also keeping your team alive easily.
Best Aventurine Relics And Planar Ornaments
Assuming you have access to all the sites where you can farm Relics and Planar Ornaments in Honkai: Star Rail, here are some of the best bonuses you can find for Aventurine:
Type |
Name |
Reason For Synergy With Aventurine |
---|---|---|
Relics |
Knight of Purity Palace |
If you're looking to build Aventurine purely to sustain damage, you won't find a better set than this one. It gives you an extra 15 percent DEF while also increasing the DMG tanked by your shield. |
Wastelander of Banditry Desert |
On the other hand, if you can get a decent amount of DEF on your relic stats and plan to build Aventurine to deal as much damage as possible, this set can work just fine for you too. It is especially good if you use him in a team with another Imaginary DPS like Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae or Dr. Ratio since they make it quite easy to get the Imprison effect. |
|
The Ashblazing Grand Duke (two-piece) |
Finally, you can also combine the two-piece of the follow-up attack set with the two-piece DEF bonus from the Knight set. This will give you the best of both worlds. |
|
Planar Ornaments |
Sigonia, the Unclaimed Desolation |
This is quite a massive ornament set in Honkai: Star Rail as it can go well with almost any DPS. While Aventurine isn't mainly a DPS, you'd still want to use this one with him the most. It gives him some Crit Rate, which stacks with the Crit Rate from his kit, while also giving him a ton of Crit DMG as long as the enemies on-field are defeated by any means. |
Penacony, Land of the Dreams |
If you want to go for a support route, however, while using Aventurine with another Imaginary DPS, this Penacony set works the best. |
|
Broken Keel |
This is a universal support set that doesn't require you to use the unit with any particular type of DPS. It simply gives your team a Crit DMG boost as long as you have 30 percent Effect RES. This works perfectly for Aventurine since his shield provides a ton of Effect RES already. |
|
Inert Salsotto |
Finally, Inert Salsotto is a set that you can farm quite early in the game, and it can boost the damage from both the main damage sources for Aventurine. |
Relic Stat Priority For Aventurine
Choosing the best relic or planar ornament set can be difficult for Aventurine due to the number of choices you have, but choosing the best stats for him is also quite hard. This is due to the sheer types of play styles you can opt for. However, here are the best choices overall:
Type |
Main Stat Priority |
Sub Stat Priority |
---|---|---|
Head |
HP |
Crit Rate/DMG > DEF Percent > SPD |
Hands |
ATK |
Crit Rate/DMG > DEF Percent > SPD |
Body |
Crit DMG / DEF Percent |
Crit Rate/DMG > DEF Percent > SPD |
Feet |
DEF Percent |
Crit Rate/DMG > SPD |
Planar Sphere |
Imaginary DMG Bonus / DEF Percent |
Crit Rate/DMG > DEF Percent > SPD |
Link Rope |
DEF Percent / Energy Regeneration Rate |
Crit Rate/DMG > DEF Percent > SPD |
For the Body and Planar Sphere, you can go for the first choice of the main stat if you want Aventurine to deal some damage, while the second stat will mostly buff his shield. When it comes to Link Rope, you'd only want to go for the Energy Regeneration Rate if you have a decent amount of SPD.
However, SPD isn't particularly necessary for Aventurine since his Ultimate isn't too valuable. It does give you a Crit DMG bonus, but that goes away after Aventurine gets three turns. With slow SPD, he has a chance of getting attacked more often, thus gaining the Ultimate back before the bonus can expire.
Best Aventurine Light Cones
Here are all your choices when it comes to the best Light Cones for Aventurine:
Inherently Unjust Destiny |
Aventurine's signature Light Cone undoubtedly tops the list of the best ones for him. It gives him all the stats he needs including DEF and Crit DMG. It also allows him to apply a debuff with every follow-up attack. This is great if you use him with Dr. Ratio or Acheron. |
---|---|
Moment of Victory |
Another decent choice is Moment of Victory with its whopping 48 percent DEF as long as you get attacked often. However, the Effect Hit Rate on this one isn't of much use to Aventurine. |
Day One of My New Life |
Going over to the four stars, this one gives you some of the best value for shielding units as it increases their DEF while also increasing the entire party's overall RES. |
Landau's Choice |
This Light Cone reduces the damage taken by Aventurine while also increasing his chances of getting attacked. This indirectly raises the amount of times you can trigger his follow-up attack. |
This Is Me! |
Apart from increasing your DEF, this Light Cone also increases your Ultimate DMG. If you're building some SPD and Energy Regeneration Rate on Aventurine, this will be the best choice for you. |
Concert for Two |
Finally, the Light Cone that got released on the Light Cone Banner alongside Aventurine also fares quite well for him with the DEF and DMG bonus provided. |
Aventurine Trace Priority
After choosing your Light Cone and relics for Aventurine, the final step is to decide what traces you want to focus on. Since he's a support character, you wouldn't want to spend too many resources upgrading him and saving these resources for DPS units. Having said that, you'd absolutely still want to max out Aventurine's Skill.
This increases the amount of DMG tanked by your shield, and it's necessary to not lose the shield on any characters in your party. After that, you can also max out his Talent while upgrading the Ultimate to around level eight. You don't necessarily need to upgrade his Basic Attack past level four.
Make sure you unlock all his bonus abilities and smaller trace nodes whenever possible.
