Kingdom Hearts has had dozens of weird and wonderful worlds to explore over its entire history, but that also means that Square Enix was eventually going to throw in a stinker here and there. For every Halloween Town, we get an Arendelle, and for every Timeless River, we get a Monstro.
That particular one is rather hated among the Kingdom Hearts community, mostly due to its maze-like structure, making it a chore to fight through the Heartless if you get a little lost. Apart from the layout, each room in Monstro's gut looks the same and has multiple doors leading to other rooms, but Kingdom Hearts fans are just now discovering that there's a very simple way to tell if you're going the right way to the inner depths of the whale.
In a post on Twitter by user Key_Cast, they wondered how many Kingdom Hearts knew that the doors in Monstro that flashed green actually indicated the correct way to go, probably assuming it was common knowledge. It turns out, quite a lot of Kingdom Hearts fans didn't know (myself included), judging by the mountain of replies and over 18k likes on the post.
After 21 Years, Kingdom Hearts Fans Are Just Finding Out How To Navigate Monstro
You can find literally hundreds of fans distraught that they didn't know this, with some not knowing that the doors even flashed different colors. One rather confused Twitter user even reveals that this little tidbit isn't included in the official strategy guides for the title.
To make matters even worse, Key_Cast explains that a Green Requiem enemy also spawns above the correct door to go through. If you're wondering how you're supposed to find out this info by yourself, Key_Cast also reveals that Gepetto tells you at the start of the level that green monsters attempt to drive you deeper into Monstro, so we really do have absolutely no excuse for not knowing this really. Reading is for nerds though, am I right?
